Real old fashioned quality across the board
Pros:

Plenty of staff around at all times and without exception they were incredibly professional, polite and helpful. Exceptional.

Cons:

There was a bit of a funny smell in the garden room - like dog pee. We didn't see any dogs. Accidents happen!

Disappointing and expensive. Staff were magnificent except for the restaurant experience.
Pros:

Food at breakfast was excellent.

Cons:

The arrangements for the evening meal were very poor. We elected to eat on the patio for dinner and were told to sit under an available parasol. Nobody on the staff were told that we were waiting to be served and no waiters came for 25 minutes before we complained. By that time we had lost our faith in the system and went elsewhere. We didnt bother attempting to eat in the restaurant for the rest of the stay. The room cost £300 a night but was fairly small. The wardrobe didn’t accommodate a full length ladies skirt. There were no tea-making facilities in the room and no fridge. A unfortunate member of staff had to carry an iron and board up two flights of narrow steps. Poor value all round.

Stay with friends
Pros:

Great location, great meal (if a little pricey!) in the garden restaurant - good service, lovely staff and good quality food. Very nice breakfast. Couldn’t fault any of the staff anywhere in the hotel - great service from them all.

Cons:

Very outdated rooms, our bathroom had a champagne suite circa 1981! Poor water pressure in the shower.
Downstairs is like a lovely historic country house hotel, upstairs is more like a pub with rooms. Poorly decorated upstairs. Expensive at £325 a night.

A Step into the Past: Stamford and The George Hotel
Pros:

This is a lovely hotel with style and quality. The staff are amazing - a breathe of fresh air in this day and age. My room was lovely and the bed extremely comfortable. The food was of the highest quality.
It is a perfectly situated, being a very short walk from the railway station and a stroll into the town centre.

Cons:

I have no negative points at all.

Outstanding comfort, service and hospitality. Thank You for such a memorable stay.
Pros:

From Check in to Check out, the stay was exceptional. Every member of Staff was courteous and had time to engage in conversation. From reception, to garden refreshments service, restaurant service staff and the staff who delivered early morning coffee.
The room itself was immaculate, and we benefitted from a generous upgrade to the booking made. Much appreciated.
Well done and Thank You to everyone.

Cons:

It was a heatwave...so if the weather had been a tad cooler......but that is beyond the control of the Hotel.
Overall, there was nothing to dislike.

First class attention to detail by all who work at the hotel. They were all very courteous.
Pros:

Without question, the main course of liver and bacon was the finest I’ve ever tasted.

The attentiveness of the waitresses and others was similarly out if the top drawer.

Cons:

Breakfast - it was good but eg to be given toast before the consumption of either porridge or scrambled eggs etc resulted in the toast been almost “past its sell by date”.
