Breakfast was exceptional
Lots of choice and very good quality breakfast
Lovely courtyard and garden
Traditional room good but should upgrade bedding to incorporate a duvet. Also no tea making in the room is a minus
Close to the town centre. Large car park.
The food was amazing
Everything was fine
I have a slit disability and i asked for a walk in shower ,i got one but on the highest floor in the hotel with many steps.
In order to get to the toilet you had to walk down two sets of steps totally wrong for my condition .
As above
So very central to Stamford, very historic and comfortable. Plenty of available staff to help with checking in/out and to assist in any questions.
Nothing
In the centre of the town, staff are so generally nice and very helpful
The only aspect of our room we didn’t like was the bedding, sheets and blankets, prefer a duvet, so much lighter and easier to move
Wonderful History Wonderful staff huge character in the place fantastic Dinner and breakfast superb atmosphere- From the greeting at reception from the beautiful smiling genuinely happy ladies Jelena (from 🇱🇻 Latvia ) and her colleague whose name au did not get (sorry to her!!) to everyone who made our stay so special. Wonderful place also Stamford - the Hotel dates back a thousand years. The Hotel Manager (another lovely lady!!) came and greeted us before dinner and also gave us the warmest of welcomes
Loved it all.
Bedrooms were newly refurbished. Staff were super welcoming and breakfast was amazing.
The hall carpet needs changing. Maybe a patterned one next time so it doesn’t show all the spills.
No bread served with lunchtime soup.
Excellent attentive staff, good meals and great location. Dog friendly.
Expensive. Bar very average. Good as a treat.
Well staffed , helpful staff.
Lovely outside / covered sitting and dining area. Beautifully lit at night.
Characterful building , centrally located.
Variety of bars .
Good breakfast.
Heavy uncomfortable bed covers , not duvets.
Prefer to make my coffee/ tea in my room when I fancy it rather than having it delivered and at a specific time.
No extractor fan in bathroom .
Food and drink very overpriced. Some was ok , but eg. had a very mediocre beef sandwich on arrival - would expect some sort of premium bread and tasty pastrami at least for the price. Ate in the Garden room on first night , mostly ok food but my sea bass was very bland and uninteresting . Wine mark up ridiculous . Good service though, attentive staff. Had a far nicer and cheaper meal elsewhere the next night.
Overall , glad we stayed there , but wouldn't eat there again , just enjoy drinks in the garden or bars , at a price !
The convex mirrors absolutely everywhere are a bit much !
A wonderful meal in the Garden Room. A lovely bedroom with comfortable furniture. But it was the little extras that meant a lot, like two members of staff turning down the bed at night. And when my wife asked for a cup of tea in the evening a whole pot, beautifully laid out on a tray, was brought to our room.
Every thing it was perfect
It was very nice. Very friendly staff. The food was amazing.
Our bed sheets had some holes in it.
Dinner was exceptional. Staff were very courteous.
Lots of stairs
Beautiful old building, decorated in keeping with its age.
