Overall facility was quite good except the washbasin blockage
Pros:

The cleanliness was good and the staff was very cooperative

Cons:

The washbasin was blocked which wasn’t good and not been fixed during my stay, but hotel staff and manager compensated me with free breakfast, although that wasn’t satisfactory but they didn’t had any other choice.

Great place to rest whilst exploring Ambleside and beyond
Pros:

On the main road through Ambleside, but even with the window open and being above a pub, it was surprisingly quiet!
The quad room is large, and beds are comfortable.
Very central accommodation and some parking is available on site for free.

Cons:

The exterior and windows could do with a little tlc, and the room showed signs of wear but not anything that would impact on your overall stay.

Happy stay!
Pros:

The location right in the centre of Ambleside was great, walking distance to everything & a Tesco Express right across the road.
Family room was spacious, with a beautiful modern bathroom.
Parking was tight but it worked, with staff ensuring we had a space when it appeared otherwise.
Being an old building there was obviously no air conditioning (expected so not a problem), but we were happy to open the door to a couple of fans having been strategically placed in preparation of our arrival.
Lovely pub.

Excelente localização, quarto sem ventilação.
Pros:

A localização é perfeita e o estacionamento é um diferencial muito importante em uma cidade pequena e bastante movimentada.

Quarto amplo.

A internet funcionou muito bem e o jantar no próprio hotel foi excelente.

Cons:

Overall, a great place to stay and we would definitely recommend it.
Pros:

Great hotel in a fantastic location, right in the centre of Ambleside. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Our family room was spacious, clean and comfortable, with a good-sized bathroom, a lovely shower and plenty of towels. The room was a decent size and had a lovely view. A great place to stay for exploring Ambleside and the surrounding area. Would definitely recommend!

Cons:

Everything was great

Sleep distrubed. Window would not shut and there was an early morning delivery at Tesco over the road on a Sunday from 7am!

Disappointed
Pros:

Location is central

Cons:

We were very disappointed with our stay.

The room was not very clean and was extremely dusty. However, that was not even our main concern.

Your property is advertised as a 4-star hotel, so we expected a 4-star standard of service and accommodation, which we simply did not receive.

The bathroom sink was blocked and filled almost to the rim every time we turned the tap on. When we reported it to the staff, we were told that nothing could be done because it was "old plumbing." This is not an acceptable response, and it was extremely unpleasant having dirty water sitting in the sink and taking a very long time to drain.

Another major issue was that the room was noticeably slanted. The sofa bed, where our children were supposed to sleep, tilted so that their heads were lower than their legs. This was uncomfortable and not suitable for sleeping, so we had no choice but to have the whole family sleep in one bed.

To make matters worse, the music from the pub below was extremely loud until around midnight over the weekend, with no consideration for hotel guests trying to sleep.

Overall, this stay was nowhere near worth the £707 we paid. We feel the hotel is misleading guests by advertising itself as a 4-star property while providing a much lower standard.
