Staff moving tables into storerooms next to my room at 10pm ,not good
very friendly staff throughout the whole of the Hotel
not much really
Everything we needed
No air conditioning. Restaurant service slow - nobody took any orders so had to help ourselves from buffet. Plates not cleared.
All was satisfactory
Nothing
Hotel with nice gardens and dog friendly. Although our dog wasn’t allowed in the restaurant we were able to have our evening meal and breakfast in the bar area .
Decor and cleanliness.
Room backed onto lift shaft so could hear the doors opening and closing constantly and movement of lifts. Very dark room with vanity light in bathroom on small mirror not working. First breakfast even though only 0900 on a Sat the pastries were all gone and not replenished. The orange juice ran out. There were no mugs to be found as tables not cleared or if they were they were not put back into service. Tea pot spouts all chipped and stained and no jugs into which to put milk...had to use a glass! We were not told that you could order scrambled/poached eggs and the literature pertaining to this not on tables. However on Monday morning breakfast service much better with friendly and informative staff and staff clearing away used crockery. Evening meal staff forgot items like sauces when requested and meal cold and fries hard and dry. We had afternoon tea....they brought the food........forgot the tea!!!! Had to go to bar to find them. Low and behold we had the same teapots from breakfast...dirty with chipped spouts!! Dry sandwiches and scones. Cakes ok. Not good value.
Conveniently located near wedding I was attending
The chaos checking in.. and my Mother being charged for the room despite having paid on booking.com
Excellent staff. Pool very nice.
Air conditioning
We enjoyed a weekend away, although unfortunately it didn't get off to the best start. The young lady on reception wasn't particularly welcoming or engaging, and her manner almost had us considering checking out and cancelling our stay before it had even begun.
The room was adequate, but for the price paid it could really do with an overhaul. Even many Premier Inns now offer air conditioning, and this is something that would certainly improve the comfort of the rooms. That said, the hotel's location is excellent and ideally situated for an easy trip into Cambridge.
The photographs of the swimming pool, taken with a wide-angle lens, give the impression of a large leisure area. In reality, the pool is quite modest, and there was a noticeable lack of seating around the poolside. With only a few families using the facilities, guests were already struggling to find somewhere to sit.
The gym was excellent and made for a very enjoyable early morning workout. It was well equipped and one of the highlights of our stay.
The food was very good, and the breakfast buffet offered a wide selection of quality items.
One area that could be improved is the availability of quiet spaces for guests wanting to read or simply relax, as these were difficult to find.
The standout member of staff during our visit was Nathan. He was personable, engaging and always smiling while working behind the bar and delivering food. He is a real credit to the hotel. It's encouraging to see the hotel investing in young staff, and hopefully other team members can be mentored to deliver the same high standard of customer service that Nathan naturally provides.
breakfast had decent options.
room was spacious.
No airco in the room.
Spa was overcrowded with kids swimming lessons. I couldn't get in the pool due its being packed.
Sauna and steaming room didn't feel hygienic.
Eventually didn't get much out of the 'spa'
Nice place and very quiet at night
Changing rooms for swimming pool were a bit dated, expected better facilities at what is a well known Spa, and a bigger pool.
Great facilities.
Good location.
Big bedroom with plenty of space.
