For what I needed - it meet my expectations
Pros:

Really nice stay - room lovely - staff really attentive - safe and comfortable

Cons:

Menu reads better than the food that arrives - quite expensive to stay there - £113 without breakfast - although room has lots of nice touches

High quality rooms and excellent food.; although expensive.
Pros:

Cleanliness, nice touches eg towelling gowns, modern bathroom and decor, excellent linen, comfortable bed, helpful and cheerful staff, and great restaurant with wide choices, healthy portions and very tasty.

Cons:

Rather expensive for what is essentially accommodation in a pub.

What a fabulous stay at a quintessential English pub!
Pros:

Love the location, love the old English charm, the quintessential English pub! The staff were amazing, especially Philomena who made our stay just that bit more special. She was wonderful. I can’t wait to go back but it’s a long way from Australia.

Cons:

Nothing!!!

A nice comfy stay in a beautiful quaint pub in a lovely spot with a nice garden, very overpriced.
Pros:

Beautiful location with great view of the downs. Very quaint & cosy pub with very friendly staff.
Really comfy bed.
Loved the benches out the front with comfy cushions, a lovely spot to sit in the sunshine.

Cons:

We booked the room to tie in with our tour of ridge view vineyard.
We really enjoyed our stay but felt the price we paid (£155.00) was way too much. We went for the ‘cheapest’ room option. This didn’t even include breakfast !
Our room (no 2) was really noisy but this didn’t bother us as to be expected staying in a pub.

Cute, historic inn with great staff
Pros:

The staff was remarkable. They were courteous, made every effort to see that we were comfortable. They are what made this stay great. Room was very clean, cute, a lot of attention devoted to decor. Amenities in the room were good; hot shower, coffee/tea.

Cons:

The room seemed a bit high priced for the size (although there are not a lot of places to stay in Hassocks/Ditchling) . Plus there was an overwhelming effort to sell us stuff. The room was small, but most surfaces were covered with promotional material or with mini-bar food to buy. On the corner of a narrow table-6 glasses- for red wine, white wine and sparkling wine, were all of those really needed when the bar was right downstairs? We felt like we were going to knock them over each time we slid by. A little less clutter would have made for a better stay (how about putting some of those in the many empty, decorative drawers).
