Good in parts.
Pros:

The room itself was clean and well presented. The bathroom had issues - see below. The staff were friendly and helpful; chef cooked a meal for my friend which was not on the Sunday menu.

Cons:

This is a very old building, and as such does not lend itself to accommodating the facilities expected by many travellers. Our room, Room 7, had a shower over the bath, and anyone over 5'10" would have to crouch to get under it. And no shower screen or curtain whatsoever, because it had been removed, as can be seen in the photograph, which resulted in the tiled floor becoming soaking wet and extremely slippery, therefore dangerous. It would have been far better if they had done one thing or the other - bath or shower, rather than both. And this is a pub, which didn't have any tomato juice, so the first drink request of a Bloody Mary couldn't be had.

Pleasant and ok value for money, make sure you have a discount voucher for food as it’s not worth the full price
Pros:

Good location and friendly staff

Cons:

Seemed a touch shabby round the edges and ceiling height very low in the 2nd floor corridor, I appreciate that it’s an old building but had I known I might have booked elsewhere, at 6’5” low heights are an issue. Food quality is declining at Marston properties that I have stayed at recently, this one was no exception

Pros:

Great location on high street close to all amenities.

Bed was comfortable and shower/bathroom was huge

Cons:

The room was exceptionally hot (there was a heatwave), the poor quality fan provided and amount we could open the windows meant there was little air circulation.

Although the rooms have been renovated the pib/bar areas are down at heel

We had an excellent stay and enjoyed our visit
Pros:

We throughly enjoyed our stay at the Angel &Blue Pig , all the staff were very friendly and welcoming , the service for food was very friendly and professional, and the food was very good , and large quantities. The location was right in the heart of the town, we will definitely be returning, and hopefully soon
