We made the most of it despite the excessive heat

Well as for a place to stay you couldn’t pick anything better than here and the staff and food are perfect
Pros:

Great service and staff that would do anything to make your stay excellent and home from home so you didn’t no you was in a hotel
And the food was great to and we eat there most days when we wanted a main meal

Nice place for a short break
Pros:

Good location in middle of town. Room was spacious with windows that opened. Breakfast was well cooked and served by helpful staff. Manager eventually found us some extra fans to help us cope with the heat.

Cons:

The car park was difficult to find as there was no signposting on the street indicating where to turn.
It was very hot and extra/better fans were needed.
Some early morning noise from the street on Saturday morning as the market was being set up.

Welcoming, well located and equipped
Pros:

Lovely welcoming, efficient staff. Clean, comfortable room with everything we needed. Interesting and quirky old building right on the high street. Slept all night undisturbed with the big window wide open ( heatwave!). Fans provided. Great to have a magnifying mirror for make-up!! Nice to have a bath.

Only slight criticism was the smell on the staircase up to the room - not in the room.

Pros:

Very cool property, Really has a ancient charm in our British heritage.

Cons:

The shower was no more than a dribble. Lack of water pressure. Being a plumber I do know how it can be a problem, if you have a cistern feeding the shower. But put a pump in under the bath? 🤷‍♂️
