10 mins walk train station.
Right in town centre & close to all I needed to see.
We wanted somewhere reasonably priced and local. the Sun Inn was ideal. As a base for exploring it was the right choice. We were warned before hand about any noise but we were not disturbed and staff were friendly and helpful.

Good location
Breakfast was served 0900-1000 but we required an earlier start. The bar staff told us that we could book a continental breakfast for between 0700-0900 so we requested one for 0730. When we got to the bar at 0730, only the cleaner was present with no one else on site so we never received breakfast..
Friendly staff. Fantastic location. Paid lowest price & was aware room would probably need updating, it was perfectly adequate & spotlessly clean.
Great friendly staff. Very comfortable bed. There was music playing till late, but it was clearly communicated to me that this would be the case before I booked, so putting it in the positives. Food in the pub was also very good.
Nothing much. The window in my room was difficult to close, but no other issues.

No hot water in the morning even after letting the water run for 5 minutes. In the evening no problems with hot water.

Stayed here for 2 nights in the "Deluxe" king suite. We were shown to our room which was on the top floor...up 5 flights of narrow steep stairs. If you can't do stairs, do not stay here! There is no lift & it doesn't warn you of this on their website! Our room was disgusting. It smelt of stale cigarette smoke. The bathroom was dirty...dust & dirt on the floor. There was bits of old dried up food on the carpet in the room. We asked to move rooms mainly because of the stair situation as I can't do stairs due to a dodgy hip. We were told "we'll have to see as we are fully booked" (we didn't see another person at breakfast the next morning 🤔😂) We were moved to another "deluxe" king room on the 2nd floor. The "king" bed was 2 singles pushed together so there was a ridge in the middle.The pillows were thinner than the toilet tissue, even with 2 of them! My hubby ended up with a sore neck by the time we left. The towels were very small, definitely not bath sheets! In fairness, the breakfast was absolutely delicious and plenty of it! And the staff were superb! But if you want cheaper beer, go to the King's Arms which is a 3 min walk away! Unfortunately we wouldn't stay here again 😞

A bit tatty and very basic but I suppose that reflected in the price.
