Everything was epic! We have wanted to stay at Drak Sun for years, our expectations were exceded by a mile
My son had heat stroke on Saturday night, I had no Panado with me and it was after 19:00, so we were too late for any outside shops. I knew the shop had Panado, and I begged the front office team to please help me, as the shop was closed. They unfortunately refused, and my son ended up just white-knuckling it. I think access to something like that would be really helpful.
The incredible views, extremely well kept grounds and the fantastic staff. Very well located for some amazing hikes and horse trails at Cathkin Equestrian Centre.
The decor was a bit dated and worn and the food was much the same offering every night. While I enjoyed breakfast, the fruit salad did not taste right on our last morning.

My wife and I celebrated our 10-year wedding anniversary at Drakensberg Sun Resort, and what an incredible experience it was! From the moment we arrived, we were surrounded by breathtaking mountain views, peaceful scenery, and a truly special atmosphere that made our anniversary unforgettable.
The food was absolutely next level! We enjoyed the buffet, and every meal was a highlight. Huge compliments to the chefs! The friendly staff also made us feel welcome throughout our stay.
There was so much to enjoy together — rowing on the lake, paddleboats, hiking to Blue Grotto, exploring the beautiful Fern Forest, and relaxing in the warm swimming pool. Every activity gave us another wonderful memory to take home.
What makes this resort so special is the perfect combination of natural beauty, delicious buffet food, great activities, and warm hospitality. It is the ideal place to escape everyday life, reconnect, and create beautiful memories with someone you love.
Thank you, Drakensberg Sun Resort, for making our 10th anniversary so special! We arrived to celebrate a decade of marriage and left with memories we will treasure for a lifetime.
Special thanks to the management who made some special touches to make this stay even more special. We are so proud to be South African if we visit places like these. I would also like to thank each and every staff member from the cleaners and gardners straight through to the chef's, waiters and reception people, pool staff and boathouse staff. You were so friendly and welcoming to us and all the other geusts.

The room next to us was very noisy, the guests was having a very loud party in the room and I had to complain two times before something was done. None the less, this is not a complaint I am thankfull that the management team cleared the situation. There is an amazing Groto lounge were the geusts can be loud and have a wonderful time.

The staff at the hotel was really friendly and helpful. We felt welcome from arrival, and enjoyed many amenities available onsite and close to the hotel. The pool area is great for relaxing in the afternoon. Drakensberg Sun is especially great if you're traveling with kids/family.
