Good location, nice staff facilities extremely disappointing!
Pros:

The staff we’re lovely and friendly & location was very convenient for the town

Cons:

Extremely dated, I love old buildings but the interior was drab and worn, the room was dark and extremely small even for a compact double, with old furniture and door that didn’t fit properly, (not great for fire safety) the bed linen didn’t smell fresh and when you pay £95 for a room you expect wash stuff, it was minimalist all of which made the price seem totally unreasonable, on top of all that the couple next door were super noisy and I could hear everything through the wall…

Pros:

Staff were friendly, room was clean and there was a great selection of board games in the lounge. Breakfast was good, too. We got a free upgrade to a larger room because the hotel was quiet and this was much appreciated.

Cons:

The whole hotel was very tired and a bit shabby. The pool was freezing, not only the water but the room and changing rooms. The doors on the showers were rotten through and you couldn't lock them because the wood was so warped. Showers in the leisure club alternated between warm and icy cold (no way to control temp, just a push button on a timer). But, for the price and location, I was willing to overlook these niggles and would stay again!

Pros:

I booked for a friend. Their feedback included positive reports about the spa, sauna and gym facilities, and a well-constructed menu.
They wish to convey their compliments to the chef and the staff members for being incredibly patient with him and his forgetful ways

Cons:

My friend had absolutely 0 complaints. The facilities, the staff, the hotel, and even the surrounding environment all exceeded their expectations. Quote: "That hotel [the Old Mill] is the nicest place I've ever been"

Disappointed
Pros:

The location and setting are great

Cons:

Our room no.9 cleaned by Kelly wasn’t up to standard the window sills were dirty and had dead bugs on the even though the windows were closed. We couldn’t tell if the towels in the bathroom had been used as they were just hanging and not folded we didn’t touch them, but there were 2 folded bath towels which were obviously laundered and folded. The room smelled musty and in need of a deep clean.

Don’t go
Pros:

May I compliment your reception staff who are polite, helpful and a credit to your hotel

Cons:

Room 6 was indeed a challenge with the door lock and had to reboot the key at least 5
times. During which I was offered room 14 a shoebox. No thank you!.
I was privy to the bedtime antics of the neighbours in the next room as well as door slamming and general customers noise. Not a good environment for sleeping.
Which brings me to the single bed with a mattress fit only for a child,
It was uncomfortable with the headboard banging the wall every time I moved.
I have enclosed the photos of the carpets in the bedroom and hall way, these are disgusting and should be cleaned at the least but definitely replaced.
The decor of the hotel stopped when you entered the hallways to the bedrooms and does not reflect your reputation on advertisements or the internet.
You may ask why I didn’t speak to a member of staff, I did when rebooting the key and the comment was ignored and when I left this morning no one was maning reception.
As you can hear I wasn’t impressed with my first stay with you. I won’t be recommending you to friends and family.
I look forward to a comfortable sleep in my own bed tonight

A convenient hotel to stay in Ramsbottom.
Pros:

Convenient for our stay in Ramsbottom after a family event. Didn’t use any of the facilities.

Cons:

Bathroom extractor took a while to turn off so kept me awake. No USB sockets for charging phone as older property so take a plug charger .

Generally very good.
Pros:

Receptionist was most helpful with a dodgy tv remote. Pleasant rural location.

Cons:

Bit pricy for a smallish room. Narrow window which looked out on to a hedge,
