Dreadful.
Pros:

The location was good

Cons:

The property was in poor repair.
Our room had mould on the ceiling, peeling wallpaper with ominous brown stains up some walls, a window with no proper latch and had clearly not been cleaned for us properly.
We assumed the bedsheets had been changed and the bed made on arrival but there was urine on the floor and pubic hair on the bath and bathroom walls. The shower had mould and green algae growing on the seals so clearly had not been cleaned properly for quite some time.

Furthermore, when it actually came to using the shower there was no water pressure which made it unusable anyway. Lucky it was a bath shower but that took a very long time to fill too.

The next morning we went to breakfast and this wasn’t bad. There was a decent selection of juice, toast and cereal. From the whole ambience I did feel I had to check if things were still in date mind…
Overall the breakfast wasn’t bad. I’d hardly write home about it though and it definitely isn’t the same as what they post on the photos for the place. “Local sausage” for the full English appears more like a frozen sausage from lidl.

We wanted some exercise in the morning and so tried the pool too. We wish we hadn’t.
The changing rooms stank and were dirty.
The shower they ask you to use before going into the pool doesn’t work properly and the temperature dial broken and pushed into the wall so you can’t even turn it.
There were many dead bugs, as well as some toilet roll floating in the misty water.
Even more concerning we overheard another guest had spoken to the cleaner and found out she just used mould spray, not disinfectant to clean things.
We soon got out the pool. There is an advertised jacuzzi. That’s been closed and apparently had for some time for “money saving”. This shouldn’t be advertised if it’s not there…

So, I wouldn’t recommend staying here unless you were in dire straits.

Relaxing Pleasant Stay
Pros:

The staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. The location is very convenient for the town centre, about 20 minute walk. Ringtons tea, coffee and biscuits. Beautifully clean towels and bed linen. Ample parking

Cons:

Poor water pressure in the bath room

Fantastic value for money.
Pros:

I love staying at the Old Mill! It's seriously good value, for a room with access to a pool.
Single bedrooms are small, but not cramped. Showers are good, nice clean bathrooms. Nice big fluffy towels! Beds are comfortable. The pool is small, but enough to be able to swim a few strokes across. No better way of starting a day! The hotel's location is really perfect for Ramsbottom - just a short walk away, and the gardens are really pretty.
I stayed room-only, so can't comment on breakfast.

Cons:

The carpet in room 6 is badly stained. The pillowcase had a broken zip, so didn't fit.
The pool changing rooms need work... there's a lot of rotten wood, although the shower rooms are clean and perfectly adequate.

Pros:

It had decent old school gym n good steam room

Cons:

The food was terrible for the price the drinks were over priced and wasn’t worth 144 for a night due to room being very old unhygienic

Won’t be back. Such a shame because has so much potential.
Pros:

Great location, reasonable price.

Cons:

Not clean. Noisy - we were in room 20 and there was an adjoining door to next door where you could hear everything like being in the same room. Our neighbours woke us up at midnight then banged on the door to complain about OUR ‘noise’ at 10am!! Bed was hard, rooms dated. Staff weren’t friendly. No phones in room. No fridge. Bathroom stank- plumbing issue? No one on desk to report/ complain to.
