The breakfast was excellent. The location suited us well for the theatre, which we attended in the evening.
My wife has Parkinson's and I am having treatment for a damaged hip/upper leg. The walk up two flights of stairs was difficult and is the main reason for the scores. Had I known there was no lift, I would have chosen a different hotel.
I have one other comment. The staff were all very helpful and looked after us well. I was especially grateful for the directions given by Luke. However, I suggest staff should be advised not to hold telephone conversations in the hearing of guests. I would have preferred the one I heard to have been in private, out of my hearing.
Purchases is a lovely Bar and Restuarant, with rooms upstairs. The room’s space, decor and facilities were great. The bar and outdoor seating area were lovely. The Staff that we met were wonderful. Small things like nibbles with drinks, and the yummy breakfast the next day, really made our stay memorable.
The only downside for us was that the Wi-Fi did not reach the third floor bedrooms. But was fine when we went downstairs. This seemed to be a known issue, and I think a simple Booster would fix it immediately.

The bar looked nice
We had to park in an off site car park, £20 for 12 hours ending at 0530 am next day so I would need to get up walk to car park feed meter and walk back.
There were a number of staircases to bed room top floor, no lifts or help provided. The deluxe room was tiny, it was a hot day, no air con just a fan. the window was open with blind down numerous noise from street level. Under those conditions we didn’t check in and asked for a refund measure. We were told to take this matter up with trip advisor.
Very very tiny room. And tiny double bed. Not big enough for two people.
