No. 1 Charlotte Street

Tja... was soll ich sagen.. wir waren jetzt zum vierten Mal auf Islay, dreimal davon im Port Ellen Hotel, dort waren wir immer sehr zufrieden.... Leider ist es ja jetzt das Ardbeg Haus, somit preislich und auch von der Ausstattung her nicht mehr leistbar/angenehm. Wir hatten das No1 gebucht, da wir gerne als Ausgangspunkt in PE sind.. leider sind die Zimmer sehr sehr klein.... ja, wir wissen, das es in alten Häusern halt normal ist, leider waren wir halt 3x im PE Hotel sind somit wohl etwas verwöhnt. Das Personal ist äußert nett und macht das mit den kleinen Zimmern wett, hilft aber nichts, wir werden hier nicht nochmal Halt machen. Ich muss aber fairer Weise sagen, dass man auch "größere" Zimmer hätte buchen können, war aber leider hier nicht so ersichtlich, dann wäre es wohl etwas besser gelaufen.

Fabulous staff and location. This is definately on my return list. Easy to get to, central to local distilleries, and an easy drive to others.

Schöner Aufenthalsraum.Möglichkeit zum Take Away mitbringen und dort zu Essen.Geschirr vorhanden.Ganzes Haus gut eingerichtet.Im Nebengebäude hat es ein gemütliches Pub.

Breakfast served was good and came with a hot food menu in the attached cafe.

There was also a connecting pub beside the hotel

The staff were all friendly, chatty and helpful. We had a situation where our bus didn’t turn up and they were a great help getting us a taxi

Rooms were decent for the price, but my toilet continually did not work correctly. Breakfast was fabulous, attached pub was always too full with locals to get it because it is very small.

Location is great. Right on the water and easily walkable to all of the town's restaurants and bars. Beer garden is a great spot.

A bonus was the delicious breakfast and the outside “beer garden” across the street. We rented e-bikes close by and rode the bike/walking path to several distilleries. The only complaint the group had was that the bed mattresses were fairly hard.

Best hotel ever. Amazing location, the garden has an amazing vue on the beach. All the amenities are great. The room is big and really confortable. The staff is so kind and the breakfast amazing. Would always recommend. 5 stars!!

This hotel was a great choice to stay while in Port Ellen. Has a lovely view of the water and a nice place to sit outside on tables and just enjoy and relax. Coco, at front desk, was terrific as we did not have a dinner reservation and she worked some magic to get us one upon our arrival. The room amenities were nice and room had information notebook for area in room which was useful. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and option to have hot food was also included. Would stay here again!
