The ambience. Breakfast was good, the room was nice and bed comfortable
Stairs! Can’t avoid them though in older buildings.
Room very large , clean and with great bathroom. Building interesting and in great location. Right under the Forth rail Bridge and with great views of the other crossings etc. Can store cycle in the room.
Be aware that you are right under the railway bridge and trains run - loudly until late and early in the morning.
Breakfast stated as served form 7am . No one there , doors locked. Some on grumpily opened a few mins after and said manager would be there soon. Waited a bit 15-20mins but left. No easy cycle storage had to take it up stairs trough narrow doors .
Hotel súper renovado, bonito y con encanto. El restaurante muy recomendable
Se oye bastante el tren
Cute little town and the Inn is old and charming. Lots of warrens and narrow doors to get to the room.
Absolutely NO wifi the whole time we were there. Staff just said they have wifi that comes and goes. They don’t know why.
Our room was overlooking the bay which was lovely however the street noise was extremely loud and went late into the night. Motorcycles, cars and jetskis were racing up the road/water until late.
Floors were really sloping which could make it unsafe.
Love the atmosphere of this inn. Was great to sit and have drinks. Dinner was nice. Our view of the water was great. The family room was enormous and we enjoyed the design. Nice hot shower. Big parking lot for guests.
Beds were extremely firm, so a memory foam top would have gone a long way in helping with comfort. Would prefer a second bed instead of sofa sleeper seeing there was so much space to fit it. Road is slightly noisy with a biker bar nearby. A bit far to get luggage from back parking lot around to the entrance.
The rooms were comfortable and spacious. My son and his bride had their wedding at The Hawes, and the staff were exceptionally helpful, We had a wonderful ceremony. I would highly recommend The Hawes Inn and the Staff
We could have done with help getting our luggage up the stairs
Location
Dark room which could benefit with redecoration. Uncomfortable bed and lumpy pillows. Bathroom could also do with upgrading.
Nothing
Our booking was cancelled midway through a seven hour drive to the Hawes Inn. Their email implied I had cancelled the booking, when in fact "they had". When I later checked on Bookings.com a room was still available.
We then had to book another hotel at short notice at a considerable higher cost to ourselves. Booking.com said they will cover the extra expense but only with a credit and not a cash refund. Definitely won't use the Hawes Inn and considering our position with Bookings.com
In a great location next to the Forth Bridge and a short walk into town.
Large groups coming in off the cruise ship meant that staff were stretched. Delays in checking in as only 1 member of staff to serve drinks to people travelling on the cruise ship and also cover checking in.
Loved the location, the food, the rooms and the staff! 10/10
Just that we weren't starting longer!
Bis 22:00 Uhr war es unter der Eisenbahnbrücke halt recht laut
Big family room
Complained about the smelly drain in the bathroom, was told they had no other rooms to offer but there was still rooms available to book online…
Nice location
