The breakfast was excellent - a good range to choose from and well cooked (my first poached egg was hard though on the 2nd day was runny, which was good). Proper mushrooms - not tinned.
The room was of a good size and clean. Twin beds were comfy though a little on the hard side - ok for 2 nights., and is personal preference.
The shower was roomy and plenty powerful enough.
Kettle, drinks and biscuits. Decaf drinks were good.
Staff were mainly polite and helpful.
Location in the centre of Pocklington was great to get around and we could walk to local places of interest and to visit our relative at the William Wilberforce Care Home. Burnby Hall Gardens was also walkable and lovely place to stroll around.
Great market on a Tuesday with local food, garden items, clothes etc.
A low ambient light, such as a lamp, would be good in the room for when we were watching tv as the overhead lights were too bright, so we had to turn the bathroom light on and open the door.
We watched the world cup from our beds though the screen was really small from that distance.
The room was hot (Heatwave) and no fan, so we opened the windows though the room was opposite the co-op which had noisy teens gathering on a bench outside and we we were woken early by a delivery truck.
We were not told that we had to request the room to be serviced (it could have been missed in the booking small print), so when we returned in the evening the bins were full, the dirty cups and glasses in the room and no milk etc. We asked for it to be replenished when we went out again, though the man forgot. We had to remind him on our return and there was no tea bags to be found.
Our room was 2 floors up which was ok for me though my sister struggled and couldn't carry her case - no offer of help, and there was no lift. If we stay again, I will request a ground floor room if they have one.
The outside of the hotel could do with a clean and a lick of paint. A few people we chatted to in the market commented that the hotel didn't look very nice or clean from the outside though we assured them it was clean and organised on the inside. The hanging baskets were pretty and watered, so the paintwork let them down.
Exceeded my expectations room was very spacious and comfortable excellent value for money, very good breakfast staff very helpful. Will stay again if in that area.
Carpet in room needed a good clean full of stains and grubby. Only thing that let it down slightly.
Plek was prima, leuk slapen in zo'n vanaf de parkeerplaats bereikbare slaapkamer. Zodoende geen gezeul met bagage, extra fijn. De fietsen konden veilig gestald. Het avondeten was erg lekker, evenals het ontbijt.
Helemaal niets.
A good pub / Inn, good rooms and an excellent large breakfast.
