Great location, but rooms need modernising.
Pros:

Great location, 10 min walk to beach.
Free and unlimited access to hotel pool and gym.
Lovely helpful staff, all very friendly.
Hotel food and drink standard price and quite good.
Air conditioning in lounge and bar areas.

Cons:

Desperately needs air conditioning in rooms! We stayed when it hit 33c and the single (dying) fan was not sufficient for sleeping.
Rooms need modernising generally.
The beds were very firm and if your bed mate moves the entire bed moves too.
Parking available but limited.

Great apart from no aircon
Pros:

English breakfast, was ok but they run out of beans one day so there was none at all. Great location if you want to be near the sea. Pool and jacuzzi were a great addition. We visited in heatwave and there was no aircon in rooms and corridors so unbearably hot.

Cons:

No aircon in rooms

A children oriented Hotel and lovely staff.
Pros:

A lovely greeting when arriving from the very helpful gentleman on reception and got us in our bedroom early. The indoor pool was amazing especially that we had our Grandson with us which made his holiday.

Cons:

The shower in our bedroom was so hot we couldn’t use it. The receptionist said he would sort it straight away and said sorry but we only had a night there anyway.

Wonderful stay
Pros:

We had a wonderful stay at Riviera Hotel and Apartments in Bournemouth. The reception staff were extremely kind, welcoming, and always happy to help with anything we needed. The breakfast was delicious with a great variety of options every morning.

We also really enjoyed the nice indoor swimming pool, which was clean and relaxing. The bed was very comfortable, making it easy to rest well after a day out. Another big advantage is the short distance to the lovely beach, making the location perfect for a relaxing holiday.

Overall, we had a fantastic experience and would happily stay here again. Highly recommended!

Cons:

Nothing

Dated. Lacking in atmosphere. Cheap rates. Good location for beach.
Pros:

Location is great if you don’t want to be in central Bournemouth but still want to be near the beach.

Cons:

Rooms - dated, incredibly small and hot! Cleaning is incredibly quick so questionable how clean the rooms actually are but not a reflection on chamber maids who look totally frazzled and understandably aren’t very happy or communicative.
Parking - very difficult to get a space in the hotel car park at front or rear. Ended up parking on street on next road twice. There are disabled bays but these are not wide enough for wheelchair or walker access so not exactly “disabled” spaces
Dated - the hotel needs a serious overhaul and updating. The rooms, restaurant, pool area are all very old and past their sell by date.
View - the view of the apartments is shocking. This is now a guaranteed short/mid term rental property and there are bits of odd curtain, ripped curtains and brown stained lined curtains plus items of laundry hanging for hotel guests to look out on while dining in restaurant and bar areas. It’s really awful.
Staff - some are great and couldn’t do enough for you, while some are surly, inexperienced and unhelpful.
Atmosphere - it’s all very stale. A table tennis table dominates the bar area which is an eye and ear sore.
Food - first evening meal was good. Second evening meal took 90 minutes to arrive and when it did it the quality was awful. Cold, dried up chicken breast with a microwaved creamy sauce served up as “chicken supreme” and a vile pie again nucleared in microwave so soggy and just disgusting. Polite complaint went over servers head. The breakfast is very average. Poor selection of “continental”. And very poor quality of cooked breakfast. If you more into quantity than quality then yes it appeals to some.
