Pros:

Good hotel in a nice area. Friendly staff and breakfast is delicious.

Cons:

Notthing realy. Just missed a kettle to make tea at night. But I could get hot water at the reception.

Disappointing
Pros:

Location
Staff were helpful and friendly.
Provided vegetarian breakfast when asked

Cons:

Problem with rooms, 4th room was reasonable
Saw a cockroach in 3rd room but did not report it.
Was promised compensation/adjustment for the rooms problem and faulty AC that caused sleep issue. It was not honoured .
Had to leave at 04:00 could not be provided with a take away breakfast.

Rooms have a step up and in not mobility friendly.
Also the external was being redecorated had to avoid hazards.

Amazing - just no hot water
Pros:

The room was big and clean. The staffs were very friendly and proactive. The location was perfect.

Cons:

Breakfast was a bit tough. Wish there was more options.
There was no hot water so couldn't properly shower.

Very comfortable city centre base.
Pros:

Good location close to supermarket and restaurants, the market and museums. 10 mins to the waterfront. Super friendly staff. Good selection of breakfast with variety options changed daily. Coffee and teas available in reception 24hrs. Decent Wi-Fi.

Good and friendly hotel in central location and with 24h reception
Pros:

I was very pleased with this booking. El Dorado Hotel is situated close to the city centre, about 15 minute walking distance. It is not recommendable to go out after it gets dark, but the hotel is in a relatively safe area, has a security guard, and there is an upscale hotel with a very good restaurant for dinner just around the corner, about 100m away. The hotel has 24h reception, and you can buy drinks there. Some guests were not happy with the breakfast, but I do not know, why: the lady serving it was friendly, the food good and sufficient. My room was very spacious, actually had two king-size beds (the hotel offered me also a single room, but it would have been for the same price and not through booking.com, which I prefer). Bedding was comfortable, and there was good air conditioning. I had a very disruptive stay, because my luggage had remained in Amsterdam, and I had no appropriate clothing for three days. Still, I could make the best of this stay, taking a tour to Kaieteur Falls from Ogli airport and buy clothing and cosmetics in the nearby mall afterwards. The hotel was understanding and supportive, sending me their trusted taxi driver Mark who was more than punctual for a 5.30 am airport transfer (which allowed me to get my suitcase (which had arrived after midnight) just before my flight to Port of Spain). -- One more thing: I do not like hotels who charge the total price of a reservation, if the guest does not cancel before a deadline days or weeks before the planned arrival. It should never be more than the first night. El Dorado is almost the only place in Georgetown with such a policy, and this is also why II booked it. Thank you.

Cons:

Nothing of substance. If I had to nit-pick: a modernisation of the shower would be welcome. Two tips for other travellers: I would not recommend staying on the western side of the river, even though there are some hotels for very reasonable prices; you would have to take a taxi back to the new big bridge and then up again to the city centre on the eastern side. the west looks like being in the middle of nowhere. For the Kaieteur Tour, I would warmly recommend Evergreen Tours.
