Pros:

After a difficult journey Lata and the staff were amazing. We were exhausted but found ourselves booked in to a comfortable room by very kind staff, had a great meal, a great night's sleep and great breakfast. Lovely old fashioned welcoming pub. Thanks so much to all but particularly Lara xxx

The staff were excellent, a particular mention to the ever present and ever helpful Manager Ben. Provided a great service.
Breakfasts were excellent.
Definitely would stay again.
Only thing I would mention, and they do advise you in advance and actually provide ear plugs but Friday night was very noisy due to the live music/dj event and people outside chatting for couple hours even after the music stopped.j

Only thing I would mention, and they do advise you in advance and actually provide ear plugs but Friday night was very noisy due to the live music/dj event and people outside chatting for couple hours even after the music stopped.

Wasn't that I didn't like but to make a mention be prepared for late night Fridays..due live music event.
They do give advance warning and actually provide ear plugs. Music did stop round 11 but people chatting under our window went on til after 1am.

Truly memorably for all the right reasons. In four days we got to know many by name.
Pros:

Hospitality and attention to guests was amazing. Room surprisingly quiet. Very hot on arrival, no A/C but staff had installed a good fan in the room before we arrived. Food very good indeed, breakfasts excellent. Staff incredible.

Cons:

Certain areas need better maintenance. The exterior windows and certain common arears, especially in the pub downstairs, corridors upstairs etc. need serious attention. The outstanding hospitality and atmosphere makes up for it all though. Plenty of really good fire precautions and Emergency Exit signage, but Exit signs for the ordinary exits would help a lot.
