Fabulous location if you want an evening strolling around the old town sipping a glass of Riesling.
Pros:

Great location for BernKastell. A historic hotel with typically German features. The room was large and was clean. Would stay there again. The breakfast was nice with good coffee in particular. Parking was convenient enough.

You sort of get what you expect here. Very typical of the region. Nothing to dislike.

zentrale Lage, aber modernisierungsbedürftig

sehr zentrale Lage in der Altstadt, großes Zimmer mit alten Möbeln

Cons:

Leider ist das schöne alte Fachwerkhaus doch in die Jahre gekommen und der Aufstieg über drei steile Treppen auch ohne Koffer (die uns netterweise getragen wurden) beschwerlich. Das Bad war zwar geräumig und die einfache Dusche durchaus funktionstüchtig, wirkte aber mit kahlen Wänden und Linoleumfußboden wenig einladend. Am Frühstücksbuffet findet sich gerade das, was man braucht, aber auch keine Sorte Käse zu viel.
