Excellent location and good value for money. Excellent breakfast included.
Rooms a little small but only there for one night….so all good.
Close to town
Good breakfas and clean rooms and friendly staff
No lift
Restaurant closed for private function
Friendly welcoming staff. Excellent restaurant food. Good bathroom and powerful shower. Easy parking.
On main road. Glazing very good at reducing sound but a little noisy when window open. We are used to quiet where we live so not likely to be a concern for others 😁
Early check in accomdated as I traveled from Ireland early flight
All good
Friendly staff, nicely decorated hotel. Good location for visiting relatives. Great shower, clean room.
Very poor Internet, uncomfortable mattresses, no lift.
Hard to find a positive. The shower was good, and there was plenty of hot water (no signage to indicate just how hot it was!)
Not sure were to start. Arrived on Thursday after long journey. The immediate appearance of the hotel was very good. It states on the info that there is no lift, but maybe it should also state that there are 45 steps, doesn't sound much, but carrying luggage up them at our age was no mean task. We were allocated room 17. On entering the room I checked the bathroom, and was disgusted to find a soiled toilet, and a very rusty toilet roll holder. The rooms are very basic, and somewhat tired. After sitting on the bed which was very squeaky, and hard we reported the issues to reception, and asked if there was another room, but they said none was available, and on our request removed the rusty item from the bathroom. There was an unpleasant smell of urine from the bathroom the whole time we stayed .We had chosen this hotel based on reviews and recommendations from relatives who live in the area who had eaten at the restaurant. We booked this hotel for a four night stay, but after 3 very uncomfortable nights we left a day early. When I explained why we were leaving early. I was told that they get really good reviews for their beds! I would also like to point out that we booked this hotel on a bed and breakfast basis costing £100 per night. It wasn't mentioned that there is only waitress service, and wonderful choice on weekdays. So on Saturday and Sunday there was a very poor buffet breakfast, with only 1 very young member of staff trying to manage alone. The lack of staff is very evident, and should anyone need help in an emergency there is no info at all in the rooms . There is a number for a night porter, but should you need his help don't bother ringing they don't answer as we found out when the main light it our room stopped working. Considering we booked this through Booking.
Everything apart from the fact that there is no lift.
No Lift.
The staff were lovely and the location was good
The bedroom was way too small for two adults, no table to work/write a letter on. Room was too hot with unsuitable ventilation
det lå centralt
der var meget larm fra gaden og fra smækkende døre inde i hoteller
Stanza pulita, colazione abbondante e gentilezza dello staff
Nulla
Welcoming from the start free parking Food great full breakfast included in with our room
Nothing
The staff are all wonderful, the bed was comfortable and the room impeccable. The breakfast was delicious.
No lift but it wouldn't keep me from visiting again.
The staff were absolutely fabulous so polite and friendly and very professional. The food was excellent and the ambiance was perfect! A very comfortable and relaxing stay
Could do with some towel hangers in the bathroom as there was nowhere to hang them but couldn’t fault anything else
The food was excellent, both dinner and breakfast, and good value for money. The bar was well-stocked, cosy and really comfortable. The hotel is located in the centre of Kirkintilloch with plenty of restaurants and bars nearby but didn't explore as it was raining heavily. We stayed in the bar and then moved into the adjacent restaurant.
I was amazed when we arrived to discover the hotel does not have a lift and the bedrooms start on the second floor. It is a relatively modern building but wasn't built as a hotel. I accept I should have checked when I booked about the lift but my assumption (I know about assuming things) was it must have a lift. My wife has a problem with her knees and the stairs were a real issue - someone in wheelchair would have no chance of getting to a bedroom. It apparently has a stairlift up to the first floor but was broken on the night we stayed. In addition, our bedroom did not have a razor point, again something I would expect in any class of hotel.
Below I'm asked to provide photos but the hotel's photos are pretty accurate, but can't provide a photo of their lift as it doesn't exist!
