Room was fine, facilities failed
Pros:

Location was fine and bed was comfortable enough

Cons:

Poor power facilities. Our room was provided with a kettle and hair dryer that were incompatible with the power outlets in the room. We were also unable to use other devices in these outlets, including device chargers. When we enquired with reception, their only suggestion was to purchase an expensive adapter from another business. The shower was also broken, with the shower head not able to attach adequately to the holder unless you want to rinse the ceiling.

If you just want a place to sleep in a good location, it’s fine. But that’s all you will get.
Pros:

It had a great location. Close to the waterfall. In the middle of town.

Cons:

Poorly kept. Poor/lack of room amenities. Broken furniture and staircase railings. Window view blocked by unkempt weeds and bushes. No room cleaning service. Very poor value for the cost.

Location, Location, Location — That Is All It Has
Pros:

The location is extraordinary, with genuinely special Alpine views. Parking on site was also very convenient. The bathroom had been renovated and was perfectly acceptable. Housekeeping changed the towels daily and replenished the toilet paper during our stay.

Cons:

This was not a cheap-and-cheerful stay. The price was high, and at that level the condition and management of the hotel were difficult to excuse.

The neglect is visible from outside, with peeling paint and stained walls. Inside, the carpet is tired.

The entrance to the accommodation area appears to have once used a swipe-card system, but now remains open day and night. Common-area windows were also left wide open around the clock, making the building feel poorly supervised and insecure.

One morning, someone tried to open our room door. It may simply have been another guest making a mistake, but when anyone can enter the accommodation area, it is difficult to feel certain.

Check-in was quick, although no identification was requested. The bed and linen were old, worn and uncomfortable, and the bed was not made during our stay.

Three nights felt very long.

The balcony should have been a highlight, but sections of the tiled floor appeared to have sunk, causing water to pool around the table and chairs. Rendering it useless if it had rained in the last 24 hours.

The kettle had an EU plug that did not fit the room’s Swiss sockets. Reception eventually provided an adapter, though only after some bemusement.

We loved Lauterbrunnen, but not this hotel. It appears to rely on its exceptional location and the town’s limited accommodation rather than maintaining an acceptable standard. The staff, location and building deserve better.

Great location, but definitely needs updating and repairs. Did not meet expectation.

Cons:

Did not match the photos. Toilet seat broken off and sitting beside toilet. Window pane broken with duct tape holding it together. Light bulbs not functioning in all lights

Das Zimmer war miserabel, es feuchtelet und stank im Zimmer, Lampen kaputt, Türen und Fenster gingen kaum zu, Steckdosen ohne Gehäuse, Frühstücksbuffet für 15 Fr pro Person total übertrieben, die Lage war perfekt! wir kommen nie wieder….
