Elegant Lake Yala Safari House

Ha sido una experiencia increíble, empezando antes de mi llegada hasta mi salida. Randy es una persona como hay pocas. Empezó ayudándome a organizar el transfer para llegar a Yala e incluso para mi salida. Nada más llegar, un zumo de bienvenida y bizcocho. Luego cogió su tuk-tuk para dar una vuelta por la zona y enseñar el parque. Increíble. Y ya para terminar, un desayuno espectacular, que no he podido ni terminar. Seguramente si vuelvo a Sri Lanka a esa zona, me quedo ahí. Gracias Randy por todo.

Der Gastgeber Randy und seine Familie haben sich bestens um uns gekümmert und war sehr zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit. Er hat uns am Tag der Ankunft im Ort die Natur und Umgebung gezeigt und sich viel Zeit genommen sowie uns sogar am Restaurant abgeholt als wir fertig waren. Eine Safari hat er ebenfalls für uns organisiert, insgesamt waren wir sehr zufrieden mit der sauberen und schönen Unterkunft. Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen und haben am Ende sogar noch ein paar Edelsteine von seiner Frau geschenkt bekommen.

Nos hizo un recorrido gratis por el pueblo en tuk tuk.
Nos organizó el safari, con una empresa muy buena, el guía/chofer super amable. Vimos 3 leopardos en el pan Yala

I loved how Randy welcomed us, so warm and exceptional i must say. His way of greeting guests and exceptional customer experience is to be called out. Place was amazing and such value for the money paid. Clean beautiful and colourful.

The house is in a great location on the edge of the lake, with lots of birds and other wildlife . The rooms are modern and completed to a high standard.
What makes this place exceptional and the best place where we have stayed in SL is the owners. They are generous, warm and welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. Randy is very knowledgeable about the bird and wildlife and took us for a free trip around the lake in his tuk tuk. We thoroughly recommend staying here.

Wow, what an amazing experience we had here. If you are interested in wildlife and nature then absolutely look no further and book to stay here now if it is available, as this is the perfect spot. Randy went above and beyond to ensure that our stay was extremely special. We heard about his place from friends who came back to the UK raving about the experience they had with him, but to be honest our stay was even better than I had anticipated. Without saying too much and ruining some of the magic, Randy is an incredibly thoughtful and enthusiastic guy who will go to great lengths to ensure your stay is memorable. The accommodation is in a lovely spot right next to a lake which is teeming with nature. The apartment was comfortable and very clean. The safari that Randy organised for us was excellent and we saw a fascinating array of wildlife including elephants, leopards and a whole host of interesting local birds. We can’t commend his approach highly enough and wish him all the best going forwards.

This homestay is truly a unique experience on Sri Lanka! Randy is the kindest and most thoughtful host we could have wished for! He welcomed us with some fruits and drinks, brought us snacks throughout the day and took hours of his time to drive us around in his TukTuk while telling us lots of interesting things about the area. He also picked us up from the bus stop and takes care of everything his guests could possibly need! For one afternoon he lent us his scooter, without any charges and just offered amazing advice on what to do. We also got some recommendations for restaurants from him that turned out great.
The room was big and clean, we had an amazing view on his garden and could see lots of animals, for example water buffalos, birds and chipmunks!
It was a pleasure getting to know Randy and his family and we can wholeheartedly recommend staying at his place! The best host we have ever had ☺️

Randy was amazing! Couldn’t have been any more helpful. Prepared a full breakfast for our safari at 5am! Then the next morning prepared the best breakfast we had in 10 days in Sri Lanka. Superb.

Beste verblijf van heel onze reis. De gastheer is zo vriendelijk en niets is te veel. Bij aankomst kregen we een drankje en een gebakje. Hij gaf een rondleiding met zijn tuktuk en vertelde met passie over alles in de omgeving.. Ook de safari was was goed geregeld. Ik kan alleen maar de reveiuws bevestigen.

La gentillesse et l’hospitalité de Randy. L’accueil fut extrêmement chaleureux et familial. Le soir il nous a aussi déposés avec son Tuktuk dans un restaurant. Le lendemain, avant notre départ, il nous a emmenés faire un tour dans les alentours de son village, en nous expliquant la faune et la flore locales.
La chambre était spacieuse et le lieu reposant, même si on ne voit pas le lac depuis la chambre, malgré le titre « vue sur lac ». Cependant, nous avons énormément apprécié le lieu qui est un peu havre de paix.

The owner does his job perfectly, treating every guest as a family member. His wife cooks great food and they very nice and kind people. The house is modern, clean and comfortable. They even helped us with arranging safari for the other day. We are grateful and happy that we could stay with them ☺️

We had the best stay at Elegant Lake Yala Safari House last week. Randy was an incredible host, super welcoming and took us on a great tour of Tissa when we arrived looking at many species of birds and saw the bat migration in the evening. He also arranged our safari in Yala for us for a great price and with an experienced driver. We couldn’t have had a better stay - I recommend 100%.

Super friendly and helpful host - brought us out on an evening ride for bat-watching, always offered free rides to surrounding restaurants.
