Comfortable hotel with great food and staff who are sincerely there to make your stay amazing
Pros:

I highly recommend Casia Roby to those traveling to San Cassiano. It's a small "hotel" a short distance from the center with all the necessary amenities we needed as we prepared for a 5 day hike across the Dolomites.

When we arrived the host was warm and welcoming. The room was ready as planned. In addition, he offered tips on using the free bus service in the summer, as well as invited us to the appertivo that evening for guests. We got lucky because on that day they host a enormous spread of hors d'oeuvres with hugos and other drinks. It was a nice surprise. The breakfast buffet was outstanding, and the dinner options for guests were also quite nice and well-prepared. It should also be noted that "Team Roby" is really a very friendly set of staff and they do seem to sincerely care about their guests.

For English-speakers you may need to ask to translate the dinner menus from German or Italian. Most of the staff speak English, but for many it is may be their 3rd or even 4th language considering Ladin is widely spoken in the valley. However, we never had any challenges with communicating.

Cons:

Pros:

The staff was amazing! We had a little dog and they could not have been warmer or more accommodating about it. They stored his food in the fridge everyday, they all stopped what they were doing to come pet him. When we asked to not do cleaning service while we were gone, because the dog was alone and he’d be scared, they offered that one of the women, who our dog likes, would stay with him while the other woman cleaned. It was just a really warm ambiance all around that made you feel like you were staying with family. We’ve stayed at many hotels with our dog, and this was the sweetest team. The location was fantastic, amazing morning walks and evening walks around the town, which is rare in Dolomites to not be isolated. It was cozy, clean, and comfortable.
