Hotel situato poco fuori dal centro abitato, ricavato in una tipica casa di campagna inglese in mattoni rossi, circondata da un ampio giardino ben curato. La nostra camera era arredata in stile classico, con mobili in legno chiaro e una particolare attenzione alla coerenza degli elementi decorativi: la tappezzeria e i tendaggi riprendono lo stesso motivo floreale, conferendo armonia all'ambiente. La stanza dispone inoltre di una zona separata dedicata a scrivania e guardaroba, dotata di mensole, appendiabiti e specchio a figura intera. Il bagno è moderno e ben mantenuto, con ampia cabina doccia, sanitari in ottime condizioni e finiture dai toni neutri.
La struttura offre un ristorante interno e un bar aperto fino alle ore 22. La clientela è prevalentemente composta da persone mature e l'atmosfera generale è particolarmente tranquilla.
Un punto di forza è sicuramente la cordialità dei gestori sempre disponibili e attenti alle esigenze degli ospiti. Molto apprezzata anche la possibilità di custodire la moto all'interno del garage della struttura, una soluzione sicura e protetta.
La colazione è ricca e ben organizzata. Oltre al buffet con frutta fresca, yogurt, confetture, tè, succhi e prodotti monoporzione, è possibile ordinare una Full Scottish Breakfast personalizzabile scegliendo tra uova, bacon, salsicce, funghi, pomodori, fagioli, haggis, black pudding, tattie scone e diverse tipologie di pane. Disponibile anche il caffè espresso su richiesta.
Nel complesso, una struttura curata, accogliente e ben attrezzata, ideale per chi cerca un soggiorno tranquillo in un contesto tipicamente britannico, con personale molto cordiale e un parcheggio sicuro per la moto.

Pros:

Lovely place to stay. Staff friendly rooms very clean and cosy food was fab only niggle for us was there was no lounge to sit in . Dining was lunchtime then closed 6pm onwards with bar. Would be nice to sit and have a drink when you get back from your travels .

Functional stopping point.
Pros:

Clean, comfortable, and friendly. Single room was small, but fine, and had a good window. Very useful to have the restaurant and bar open in the evening, particularly with distance from town centre.

Cons:

The walk into town is a bit of a slog. The bus does pass occasionally, but it's not so good for someone visiting Kirkcudbright without a car. Felt a bit soulless, but that wasn't the fault of the skeleton staff, who were all very friendly.

Great hotel, Recommended
Pros:

Great hotel, great room for the price. Warm, clean and comfortable for a nights stop on the motorcycles. Excellent food from the restaurant. Great menu. Great breakfast. Friendly staff. Perfect.
