Excellent staff, they went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. Food was also very good. Great location in Hathersage.
Great location. Loved not having to wlk through pub for our room. Room was spacious, basic & everything we needed. Pub served lovely food. Staff were friendly.
Little things could easily make it a bit more comfortable. Lack of plugs so only 1 bedside lamp even tho a twin room. The water in shower tray took a while to drain. A pain when 2 are trying to get ready. Kettle on a very low down table which was inconvenient. A chair or something for a bag would help. I was able to use the bottom of wardrobe but my sons bag had to live on the floor. The tv didnt swing out so only 1 person could actually watch it. But these things wouldn't stop me staying again

Miner water leak in the bathroom across the floor and bed softer than we are used to. External influences that neither the landlord or police could control. No parking onsite but landlord directed us to long stay car park which was a very short walk
The location was great, right on the high street. The staff were friendly.
The room wasn't very clean.
Dirty hand prints on the bathroom door and the shower trap was so clogged, we couldn't clean it so the shower tray would flood.
Obviously being right behind the bar it was noisy. Ear plugs helped.
Im afraid Im struggling to write anything positive about this pub with rooms. It certainly isn't a hotel. I suppose the price was reasonable. The wifi worked!
The room smelt of wet dog. I had to buy a fabreze spray to mask the smell.
The adjacent pub was so noisy and busy I couldn't get served with drink.
The TV remote was caked in grime and the carpet was dirty.
In the morning I couldn't find any staff to speak to, so just left the key.

A traditional English pub in a historic building with accommodation around the courtyard behind. Although the live music was incredibly loud when I arrived the bedroom was surprisingly quiet, except for the peal of bells from a nearby church on the Sunday morning, which I enjoyed.
Although there is no formal reception the staff at the bar were very helpful: one carried my bag to my room and another brought a note of a telephone message to my room.
The location is in the heart of Stony Stratford, with a variety of places to eat close by.
There are a bar and cafe at the property but they had stopped serving bar food at 7pm on the Saturday and no breakfast was available on the Sunday (but there are several other places to eat or buy food close by).
The courtyard was easily accessible from the street, so I did not feel I could leave my laptop there.

Just central position
We were expecting from the advert to stay in old pub as advertised but ended up in a modern coffin room extremely claustrophobic and stifling hot. We could not safely open the window for air as it was on back of public car park and unsafe. Hated the room and the price was too much for a box. Did approach the pub after for their comments but they ignored me. WOUD NEVER STAY THERE AGAIN. Awful. Last year stayed at the pub down the road which was exceptional but unfortunately they had no rooms available
