Due to the food and we was celebrating a family birthday our stay was disappointing

The hotel rooms are nice and it sits in pretty grounds

Cons:

Having to pay extra for the spa facilities as a hotel guest would assume that you could use the pool without paying the £20.00 fee ,The food throughout our stay was very poor , cold and badly presented sadly because of this I would not return

If it is a Spa experience you want then this is probably one for you.
Pros:

Room as a good size with adequate facilities. Shower was excellent.
The restaurant was very good with attentive and not overbearing staff.
Breakfast was of a good quality and a relaxing experience.

The Azaleas in the garden were amazing! I'd be surprised if anyone even noticed these.

Cons:

The site seems to be all about the Spa experience with the hotel being low key.
It seems one is prohibited from using the outdoor seating, close to the building, by what one now knows is reserved for afternoon tea guest only. It was totally empty outside with a low level of users indoors. No empathy from staff other than go across to the outside bar area where there were no seats available. Outstanding service comes with thoughtful, empathetic actions - perhaps a courteous response like "this is normally reserved for afternoon tea guests but we are quiet today so I could get you a coffee if you take a seat outside!"
A table was moved during one of our meals leaving quite a mess under the base - obviously not been cleaned for weeks and not nice to sit by and consume our meal. The staff didn't seem to notice when they moved stuff around. I should have said something there and then but was too polite. It was mentioned to management after the visit.

Lovely location and food, extra charges so cost alot more then previously

Bathroom in our room had dirt from previous guest, and guest bathrooms beside bar were dirty , they added a charge to use the spa which we weren't expecting, we have been 4 times previously and this was not the case , we had no notice on booking. Drinks expensive although nice. Could have done with different size dressing robes as my partner is very tall and broad he couldn't wear unfortunately same as with the slippers they were far to small

It was good but wish we could have a dinner at the fine restaurant
Pros:

Staff were all nice and friendly. The meal was very good but unfortunately we couldn’t go to the fine dining because it was full.(over booking)

I found the spa was not clean enough. The swimming pool and hot bath water was not clean.
I really feel they need to be cleaned the water.

Lovely place for a relaxing break

Location, and the style of the building. The Spa area outside was really nice

Cons:

There was a long wait time to check in, and it took far too long to serve breakfast. Having separate sauna’s/steam rooms was a bit odd. Also the billing was odd, I had booked two rooms, but the charges fur drinks & dinner were split over 2 rooms, which was confusing.
