I managed to hit a holiday weekend and I was in fact the only resident in the hotel for my two nights where I was very well looked after. The hotel car park is exceptional and bizarrely the state of Hessen does not allow free car parking at hotels so there is a charge of one euro a night - well worth it! While the car was comfortable in the car park, so was its owner in the hotel. It cannot be easy putting on a breakfast buffet for a sole resident but I was very pleased with what was on offer. I also appreciated the advice I got about leaving the car where it was and taking the train into Mainz. I would have asked but I did not need to and I really appreciated what I was told - go one stop! I would otherwise have gone further but the advice was spot on and the station is diagonally across the road from the hotel. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would not hesitate to book here again.

Dejligt byhotel ved banegården. Gode store enkeltværelser med balkon. Venligt i imødekommende personale. God morgenbuffet. God parkeringsplads. Vi kommer gerne igen en anden gang.

Es hat an nichts gefehlt, das Zimmer war sauber und das Frühstück ausreichend. Auch das Personal war außerordentlich freundlich.

My very roomy single with balcony included a settee, a mini-fridge, a desk with chair and wardrobe. Lovely room with finely-kept wood doors and trim, the kind they just don't make anymore; every square inch has clearly been immaculately maintained for decades. The room was spotless. The rest of the hotel was no different - handsomely decorated and tidier than tidy. I felt transported to some other era. It's a family-run place with intense pride of ownership which shows not just in every corner of the facility but in the personal interactions with very welcoming and helpful family-member/manager Anja, who should be giving lessons to hoteliers everywhere. Breakfast was traditional German and wonderful. With a walk of maybe 2 minutes I was at the Gustavsburg train station - then the trip to Mainz's Roman Theater station took only 4 minutes - and from there it was only a couple minutes more to the heart of Mainz, the Augustinerstrasse. And getting to FRA for my flight out was a direct train ride of just 20 minutes.

Hochwertige Ausstattung meines Zimmers. sehr netter und hilfsbereiter Service des familienbetriebenen Hotels. Frühstück mittlere Qualität. Sehr ruhige Lage im Mainzer Vorort mit perfekter S-Bahn-Anbindung.

Sehr schönes, gemütliches und familiär geführtes Hotel. Sehr freundliche und zuvorkommende Inhaber. Habe mich sehr wohl gefühlt. Sehr gutes Frühstück, sehr schönes Schwimmbad und großer Parkplatz. Sehr schönes, nostalgisches Flair. Perfekte Verkehrsanbindung. Ich werde wiederkommen.
