The hotel
Being scammed off booking.com and left stranded 190 miles from home, they pissed me about for a further 3 hours, I advise to use an other booking site or phone the sporting Lodge direct,I will be pursuing booking.com through the courts,a lot of places they advertised are scams, so be careful, you have been warned
Good dinner and breakfast, nice room with a comfy bed, pool, gym and spa.
A very noisy party in the bar/restaurant area during dinner.
Location
Bar restaurant, a bit of “a boys” place to say the least. 1 glassing during stay.
Location is key to getting to work in the area when I stay
New parking charge scheme in operation, was charged without knowing it was in operation.
Room was ok but small for the price
A MDF makeshift desk, wasnt big enough to open my laptop properly, left nowhere to put paperwork etc.
Lighting was poor
Seriously lacking sockets for charging
With the makeshift table, you could not do work and watch something due to proximity
Food is great and good value!
Breakfast great
Staff nice Gym and sauna good
Rooms need updating
Carpet is awful
Car park now charges
It was generally ok staff were helpful
Felt ripped off with extra charge for car park and twenty pounds for dog usually pay £10 elsewhere and it was £15 last time I stayed there which I thought was steep.
Nice clean room was good for the one night I was in town. Good gym on site that I enjoyed using. Peaceful area.
Breakfast was really limited and I don’t think it was worth the extra charge. Also for late check out they just to 12pm they wanted an extra £10
Most staff were friendly . Gym was great and bar &breakfast staff were friendly and hospitable.
One or two staff members you can tell wanted to do the bare minimum and mire interested in talking to their colleagues. They were not interested in helping
Tried to get advice to a local supermarket as needed a rain coat. Got a short answer to just "Google it"
Asked Receptionist about getting an invoice as booking.com states asking at check out Lady in the front desk disagreed and said she can't trigger an invoice and I should take it up with booking.com.
Food was good and reasonably priced.
Rooms were basic and need refurbishment.
It’s good
Having to pay for parking don’t think we will return after we stay a lot their but this new parking payment as put us off
The pool was nice.
The room was disappointing. Really tired.
How nice and friendly the staff was in the restaurant/ bar and the breakfast was very tasty and had a very good selection
Staff in the reception area need a little more training in customer service
