Please note that for reservations under the condition "Pay at the property - no prepayment needed ", the total amount of the reservation must be paid at the check-in.

Lovely property views room let down by poor reception staff

Beautiful views staff pool restaurants great lovely view from room

Cons:

Most of the reception staff were quite rude and did the bear minimum you were made to feel guilty if you asked for any request 5 star hotel with a 2 star reception they certainly were not of the quality of the 4 seasons etc

Sehr sehr schönes Hotel, auf einer sehr schönen Insel, absolut empfehlenswert.
Pros:

Äusserst nette und zuvorkommende Mitarbeiter. Sowohl in den Restaurants, beim Frühstück, Mittags und Abends; auch an der Rezeption, und auch am Pool.

I would stay here again when the opportunity presents itself.
Pros:

Excellent service from check-in to check-out. I love the flowers and the garden around the whole estate. The food is great too. The restaurants serve very delicious dishes.

Sehr empfehlenswertes Hotel zum 'Rundum-Wohlbefinden'
Pros:

Hotel auf ausgezeichnetem 5-Sterne-Niveau in hervorragender Lage und Ausstattung. Sehr freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal. Überragend gutes Frühstück auf hohem Niveau in Zubereitung und Auswahl. Ebenso gute Restaurants, darunter eines mit 2 Michelin-Sternen. Abwechslungsreiche Musikangebote in der netten Bar. Tolle In- und Outdoorpools mit frühen und langen Öffnungszeiten zur flexiblen Nutzung nach Wunsch. Zugang zum Meer über Badesteg. Ein rundum zufriedenstellendes Hotel.

Cons:

Sehr schönes kostenloses Upgradezimmer mit Balkon und seitlichen Meerblick ist etwas 'in die Zeit gekommen', was aber unserer Gesamtzufriedenheit keinen Abbruch tat.

Der Service im Speisesaal wirkte etwas unkoordiniert, längere Wartezeiten zwischen den Gängen, obwohl das Personal freundlich und ambitioniert ist. Das Essen war jedoch perfekt (angerichtet).

Elegant hotel
Pros:

A truly beautiful and elegant hotel. Peaceful and calm, with great facilities. Wonderful views over the sea. Location to Funchal is great. Not too close, but any easy walk in. The staff are so good at this hotel. The service we received was excellent from every member of staff. I would definitely recommend The Cliff Bay and look forward to retuning soon.

A perfect week relaxing and a base to explore all Madeira has to offer. Highly recommend staying here.
Pros:

Superb location overlooking Funchal Bay and the Atlantic. While it was fully booked, it never seemed crowded or busy. The food was excellent and fresh with lots of choice. The facilities provided plenty of options throughout the day. The staff couldn’t have been friendlier or more helpful. The room was very comfortable and clean with a large bathroom, bath and shower and a small but perfectly adequate balcony from which to see the sunrise.

There is nothing I didn’t like.

Wonderful hotel
Pros:

Beautiful hotel with lots of lovely indoor greenery and fresh flowers. Good in the Rose Garden restaurant was outstanding and particularly enjoyed the daily musicians in different locations of the hotel

EXCELLENT HOTEL IN EVERY ASPECT
