The room not as advertised
Comfy bed, nice view and friendly staff.
I was disappointed in the lack of privacy while on the balcony; a noisy group of drunk guys dominated the balcony area the first night so all the relaxed people stayed in their rooms.
The location was great — a lot of amenities within walking distance, good restaurants, and it’s quiet! The view was stunning and we even got to see orcas from our front porch. A very short drive into town and super close to hikes and Moran State Park. Restaurants close to the marina are good and have a good variety of food and drinks! Also just a walk away from Outer Island Excursions so it was very convenient.
There was one sign that said it was a guest room but people did not pay attention, they often walked onto the balcony and looked in the windows and would also sit in the chairs on the porch. The shower did have black mold on the ceiling (I let the property know about this). The room is not as private as it is portrayed. It is right next to more condos so there isn’t much privacy from everyone else. It was a good stay but not sure the price is worth it.

the room needs updating. the carpet needs replacement. the balcony deck needs to be replaced because it is unsafe due to rot.
It was very isolated and serene
It was very isolated, had to drive to get food. We did eat at the small Cafe but did not make it to harbor bar and grill
View was amazing! Room was perfect for our needs and just what we wanted. 2 nearby grills/cafe were very convenient and food yummy. Also just a 10 minute drive to the lovely East Sound village for lots of other restaurant options and many fun shops !
screen door was broken upon arrival but the repair was done quickly when we reported it.
The view and quiet surroundings was lovely. It was great being able to walk to coffee and breakfast in the morning.
We didn’t have a screen on the sliding doors and it was hot when we arrived. I need up with bugs in the room trying to air it out and keep a breeze. The beds were very comfortable but the little touches were underwhelming. That being said we would go back!

Definitely the view was the highlight of the visit. We love doing birdwatching and seeing all the wildlife… Seals, starfish, etc…
One door handle was loose so that door was difficult to open. The marina did leave their lights on all night.
Complete false advertising on the website. It advertised itself as a resort and spa. The main building Moran Mansion has been closed for 4 years with no timeline to reopen. Locals say the building likely needs a lot of renovation work. There is no service. No spa. No nice restaurant. They have the marina restaurant open and food is meh. To check in, they will text you a code and that's it, no service the whole time you are there. No one to take out the trash or give you more towels! Staff will tell you it is newly renovated. What they actually did was a new coat of paint, maybe new carpets (still look nasty), but all old furniture and the bathrooms looked nothing like the website pictures. The bathroom has carpets and looks like it is from the 80s with chipped lamented counter top.

Do-it-yourself “motel” at luxury-resort prices
We stayed 8 nights and the gap between what’s advertised and what you actually get is significant. The historic Moran Mansion — the whole reason people come to Rosario — is now under completely separate ownership from the rest of the property and has been closed for years, with no reopening timeline given anywhere at booking. What’s left is a fragmented, poorly maintained property split between at least two different owners, with two separate, unrelated, and equally ramshackle restaurants on the grounds that don’t seem coordinated with each other or with the lodging.
There is no housekeeping during your stay. Over 8 days we received no towel or linen changes and had to physically go get our own coffee refills from a supply area rather than have anything restocked in the room. Check-in is entirely remote/digital with a door code — there’s no hotel staff on-site to help with anything. This is a Motel 6 experience at rates that suggest a full-service resort.
The grounds themselves show real neglect: buildings in disrepair, closed facilities, and an overall sense that nobody is actually managing this property day to day. If you’re picturing the historic Rosario of years past, be aware that it no longer exists in any coherent form. Multiple layers of ownership changes, a lender dispute, and apparent financial distress have left what was once one of the most unique and peaceful resorts in the country in a state of visible decline.
We would not return, and would encourage anyone considering it to look elsewhere unless the mansion reopens and the property is unified and properly staffed again.
The view
This is our first time here and we didn't know about the ferry rides and the reservations.
Hillside rooms are up a very steep hill from facilities but the view is superb.
