Aranya Vilas is a gem nestled very centrally amongst the city hustle bustle yet , a peaceful tranquil abode with its own lil’ forest , its very own lake & a pond too ! All the major attractions are within 100 metres to few kilometres.
Being a nature lover I couldn’t help but admire the lush greenery , variety of bird visitors, langurs , squirrels , butterflies , ducks , goldfish in the pond & a very friendly pup Tony.
The rooms & property are immaculately clean & well maintained.
The staff is gentle pleasant & always quick to respond to little requests. Special mention for Mr Kundal at the reception & Ms Sangeeta at the restaurant.
Although some people have mentioned the food being expensive , I do not agree ! The food is fresh & sumptuous, balanced spices. We loved our breakfast & candlelit dinners there with live flute & santoor music!

Amazing hotel sorrounded by nature...very senic. The villas are very spacious. It is located just 500m from the lake. Food was also good. Buffet breakfast can be improved!!

Location:
The location is excellent and one of the biggest advantages of this property. It is conveniently close to the main attractions, making sightseeing and travel very easy and hassle-free. Everything we wanted to explore was within comfortable reach.
Vibe & Ambience:
What we absolutely loved about this place is its greenery and peaceful environment. The entire property is surrounded by lush green landscapes, creating a calm and relaxing atmosphere. The vibe is serene and refreshing — perfect for unwinding away from city noise. The open spaces are beautifully maintained, and the overall environment makes the stay very pleasant and rejuvenating.
We stayed in the Luxury Villa, which was spacious and comfortable. The property also features some really beautiful open areas, including a clean swimming pool, a lovely pond, and a nice airy dining area that adds charm to the overall experience.
Service:
The service staff is genuinely helpful and courteous. We had a small issue with a malfunctioning heater in our room, but within a few minutes of informing the staff, they replaced it with an efficient room heater. Their quick response and willingness to help were truly appreciated.
Areas for Improvement:
While the overall experience was very good, there are a few aspects that need attention:
Room Electrical Layout:
The placement of light plugs and switches was not very ergonomic. Specifically, the hot water kettle plug point was not easily accessible. We had to use the same plug point for both the heater and the kettle, as there was no alternative accessible high-voltage plug in the room.
Every time we wanted to make tea or coffee, we had to go under the table, unplug the heater, plug in the kettle, and then repeat the process to restart the heater. This was inconvenient and could easily be improved with better plug placement or additional power outlets.
Breakfast Experience:
The breakfast spread was quite limited and, unfortunately, not served hot. For two consecutive days, the food was cold or not even warm, which affected the overall taste experience. Additionally, the staff in the dining area did not greet guests, which felt slightly disappointing in terms of hospitality. I think the Restaurant team and rest of the resort team are not in connection. When we told our experience with the reception team they said you can complain to F&B team in restaurant. The serving team is really lethargic and have communication issue. With breakfast deal can be avoided. or order freshly cooked items if you got a B&B deal.
However, on the last day, we ordered freshly prepared hot breakfast items, and they tasted really good and flavorful. This makes us believe that if the heating and temperature issue is resolved, the food quality can truly shine.
Overall Experience:
Despite the minor shortcomings, our overall experience was super and memorable. The location, greenery, peaceful ambience, helpful staff, and beautiful open spaces make this resort a great choice for a relaxing getaway. With a few improvements in room ergonomics and breakfast service, this place can easily elevate the guest experience even further.
We would definitely consider staying here again.
Lovely resort within the city and surrounded by natural trees 🌳. We had an opportunity to see several Peacocks around the property in their Habitat. Close to the city centre and Lake Pichola it was a perfect location. Food was excellent at the restaurant.
Rooms could be better maintained.
Staff is learning and courteous and pays attention to the need but more training needs to be provided to them.
They keep forgetting from which room the order was placed and delivered to another room.
The first day the glasses in the washroom had fungus on the lid, ideally the room would have been closed.
Though later room cleaning was done on a daily basis.
At the breakfast menu there are options but they need to be warm enough to be eatable some items become stiff and you don't like eating then.
Excellent customer service. Very clean and welcoming atmosphere. I would strongly recommend this place for all the travellers going to Udaipur. Looking forward to coming here again next year. Thank you for the wonderful stay.

Currently here with a tour group and after meal service I would not recommend. We had to ask multiple times to order. No one seemed to know who was waiting our table. Other tables ate and left before our food came. No apologies. After 1:45 2 of our group never got food. No one cared
I stayed at Aranya Vilas in January 2026 and had a truly wonderful experience. The hospitality was warm, attentive, and made us feel completely at home from the moment we arrived. The food was absolutely delicious, with great variety and authentic flavors that added to the comfort of the stay. The property itself is beautiful, with a peaceful forest-like vibe and greenery all around. Being surrounded by so many trees gave it a refreshing, close-to-nature feeling. The natural pond on the premises was especially calming and made the atmosphere even more serene. The rooms were very clean, comfortable, and completely noise-free, which made the stay even more relaxing. Everything felt thoughtfully maintained and perfectly blended with the natural surroundings. Overall, Aranya Vilas is an ideal getaway for anyone looking to unwind, enjoy nature, and experience excellent service. Highly recommended!
We chose Aranya Villas Udaipur for my birthday, as my wife had planned a special surprise for me. Unfortunately, what was supposed to be a memorable celebration turned into one of the most frustrating hotel experiences we’ve ever had.
To begin with, my wife had pre-paid for a birthday cake, but when we reached the resort, they had completely forgotten to arrange it. There was no apology or accountability.
⭐ Additional point: At the time of booking, it was clearly mentioned on the booking page that a complimentary cookie platter would be provided. This was never given to us. It’s a small thing and we don’t even eat cookies, so we didn’t complain at the time—but it does reflect the lack of attention to commitments, which is why I’m mentioning it here.
Once inside the room, we realized the resort doesn’t even have a smart TV, which was surprising for a property that claims to be premium. The bigger shock came when I entered the bathroom and found thousands of ants all over the washroom. I immediately called reception. A housekeeping staff member rushed in and tried to clean it, but the situation was unacceptable.
When we requested a room change, the staff insisted we continue using the same ant-infested room after cleaning. We had booked a Jacuzzi Suite, but instead, they tried to downgrade us to a small, normal room, claiming all suites were booked. We had to argue for 30–40 minutes around 7 PM, asking either for a proper suite or a refund so we could leave. Miraculously, after nearly an hour of arguments, a suite suddenly became “available” and was allotted to us. This clearly showed mismanagement and lack of honesty.
The problems didn’t end there. My wife had pre-paid for a special candlelight dinner near the pool a month in advance. At check-in, Ms. Kusum at the reception confirmed everything and told us to come at 9 PM, assuring us that all arrangements were ready. When we reached the restaurant at 9:30 PM, the restaurant manager had no clue about any decoration or special setup. The staff started blaming each other instead of resolving the issue.
We requested them to simply adjust the amount we paid in our dinner bill, but they insisted the setup would be done in 10 minutes. After waiting for over an hour, the table was finally ready. Because of the delay, they informed us that the à la carte food would be complimentary.
Exhausted and frustrated, we ordered simple food—soup, fried rice, and a few drinks. Later, they brought us a bill saying only food was complimentary, not the drinks. At that point, we were mentally drained and didn’t have the energy to argue further, so we just paid.
Late at night, monkeys were moving on the roof and around the Jacuzzi area, creating loud noises and making it difficult to sleep. While wildlife is expected, basic sound control or warning would have helped.
The next morning, a few of our friends wanted to meet us briefly as we were all from different cities. The reception staff rudely informed them that guests are not allowed, calling it “policy.” The same receptionist who had earlier confirmed the dinner was extremely arrogant. One of my friends had a broken leg, yet no assistance was offered, and they didn’t even allow the car to come till the reception area.
When I politely requested her to bend the policy for just 15 minutes, explaining everything we had already faced, she replied:
“Humne aapko complimentary food diya toh tha.”
That statement was extremely disrespectful and triggering. I never asked for complimentary food. I paid for premium services, special arrangements, and a memorable experience none of which were delivered. What hurt the most was that not a single staff member apologized, except the GM, who was the only professional person we interacted with.
This resort completely ruined my birthday, and I feel it’s my responsibility to share this experience so that no one else goes through what we did.
Here i booked my stay for couple of days and i had great time with beautiful rooms and with atmosphere. Thank you aranya vilas for make my stay wonderful.
This place is at a great location. Staff is great. Resort is essentially built in an old garden, keeping most of the garden intact. You can drive all the way up to the hotel. Staff is great. Rooms are new and nice. A little paradise in the middle of the town
Peaceful and perfect gateway. Must visit with a family. Food is good. Breakfast has many options. Closer to famous places.
Breakfast was delicious... superb place ... value for money.
