Famiglia gentilissima, colazione e cene molto buone (anche per vegetariani). La camera è semplice ma decente. Ci hanno aiutato a prenotare le bici e anche abbiamo usufruito del loro servizio trasfer per Sigyria. Posizione vicino al lago per una passeggiata serale.

Das Zimmer des Homestays ist in hervorragendem Zustand. Sehr bequemes Bett, sehr ruhig. Klimaanlage funktioniert einwandfrei. Das Morgenessen ist hervorragend. Das eigentliche Highlight dieses Homestays ist aber der Host, Wasantha. Wir haben auf unserer 4-wöchigen keine vergleichbare Erfahrung gemacht. Er ist dermassen präsent, auskunftsfreudig und stellt das Wohlbefinden seiner Gäste über alles. Wir buchten das Homestays ca. 4 Stunden vor der Ankunft. Wasantha bot uns sofort an, uns am Flughafen in Colombo zu holen, obwohl es eine etwa 7-stündige Autofahrt für ihn bedeutete. Als wir ankamen, erklärte er uns, welche Aktivitäten wir unternehmen könnten. Er ist spezialisiert auf junge Reisende. Er bot uns jeweils an, eine Tour oder eine Safari über ihn zu buchen. Wir stimmten einigen Vorschlägen zu, andere lehnten wir ab - und das war völlig okay. Er insistierte nicht, sondern gab sich bei den gebuchten Aktivitäten umso mehr Mühe. Am Abend kann man Nachtessen bei ihm und seiner Frau bestellen. Wir hatten grossartige Curries - nach vier Wochen Sri Lanka müssen wir sagen: in den Top 3 aller Curries, die wir gegessen haben. Wir buchten eine Safari über ihn - er brachte uns früh Morgens zu einem Jeep, der uns eine private Tour ermöglichte. Das beste war aber die ausführlichen Gespräche, die wir mit Wasantha führten. Er liebt es, sein Wissen über das Land zu teilen, und es machte wirklich unglaublich Spass, mit ihm zu philosophieren. Er ist ein offenes Buch, transparent, und möchte das beste für seine Gäste. Zudem ist er ein guter Geschäftsmann. Buchen Sie dieses Homestay, sie werden es nicht bereuen.

We had such a wonderful stay at this homestay and genuinely couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From the moment we arrived, the whole family was incredibly welcoming, kind and generous. They went far beyond what we expected to make our stay enjoyable and comfortable.

They helped us organise visits, safaris, drivers and guides, always recommending lovely people and arranging everything at very reasonable prices. It made exploring the area so easy and stress-free, and we really appreciated how much care they put into helping us discover Sri Lanka.

We also had breakfast and dinner at their home twice, and honestly, these were some of the best meals we have had during our entire trip in Sri Lanka! The food was delicious, homemade and a wonderful opportunity to experience authentic Sri Lankan cooking.

What we especially loved was how genuinely interested they were in sharing their culture and way of life with us. They were always happy to answer our questions, explain local traditions and recommend things to see and do. It made the stay feel much more personal than a typical hotel experience.

The room itself was also lovely: comfortable, clean, spacious and equipped with everything we needed for a pleasant stay.

Overall, this was one of the highlights of our trip. If you are looking for a comfortable place to stay with a genuinely kind and welcoming family who will help you make the most of your time in Sri Lanka, we would absolutely recommend staying here. We are very grateful for their hospitality and will remember this stay for a long time!

De eigenaar is super vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Ook het avondeten bij hem thuis is een aanrader en je kan met hem ook uitstapjes maken. Wij gingen met hem naar Ritigale.

Der Besitzer ist sehr hilfsbereit und vermittelt einem auf Wunsch zu den ortsüblichen Preisen jede mögliche Aktivität vor Ort. Das angebotene Essen schmeckt hervorragend und hat einen fairen Preis.
Wir hatten einen sehr schönen Aufenthalt, in einem tollen, sehr sauberen Zimmer. Auch ein Plätzchen für unser Tuktuk stand zur Verfügung.

‘An example for hospitality’. Dat geldt voor de eigenaren. Dat geeft een 5 star experience en familiegevoel bij een relatief basic homestay. Schoon, netjes, lieve mensen en dichtbij een goed restaurant (Palhena). Via de sympathieke eigenaar goede fietsen en een gids georganiseerd; bovendien was hij onze taxichauffeur naar onze volgende stop, Sigiriya. Een aanrader!

A very nice host, we had home made food there and it was lovely. The owner clearly takes time preparing the great food with local ingredients, some of which grown by his family.
The owner was attentive and knowledgeable with great english.

Fantástico alojamiento, el desayuno muy bueno y completo en la terraza, habitación cómoda y amplia, con dispensador de agua al lado. El dueño muy amable se ocupó de todos los detalles y me proporcionó buenas recomendaciones. Muy recomendable.

The whole house was clean and tidy with a beautiful garden. It was in a quiet location and it was perfect for me.
I was greeted with a delicious soursop juice on arrival!
There was a great restaurant a 10 minutes walk away which understood about gluten free.
The room was very comfortable and thank goodness for airconditioning.
Wasabtha and his wife were lovely and Wasabtha organised all my tours including driving me to Polonnarawa, picking up a the best guide, driving us around and delivering me to my next accommodation.
I was actually sad to leave.

We stayed for three nights and were very impressed, this is one of the best home stays we've done. The host is very generous with his time and knowledge and was happy to arrange a full day tour to Wilpattu for us through his connections. This was the tour of a lifetime, we cannot recommend it enough. The house itself is very charming. The room is large and comfortable and everything is clean. There are even chairs to lounge in and filtered water. The breakfasts and dinners were also excellent and it was lovely to eat in the courtyard among the lush greenery. Such a nice sample of Sri Lankan home cooking. We're grateful for the hospitality and for making our time in Anuradhapura a highlight for us. We recommend unreservedly.

Nous avons passé ici un super moment. Le personnel est très sympathique, et le restaurant propose de très bons plats aux épices bien ajustées. Si je suis de retour dans la région, j’y reviendrai.
