Very pleasant and relaxed stay
Pros:

Nice view from the hill, location directly next to the train station and walking distance to the city center.
The owner is very nice and we had a fantastic cooking class with him.
It’s a simple guest house where we really felt at home. The breakfast on the terrace was beautiful!

Idealne miejsce dla podróżujących z plecakiem:)
Pros:

Super lokalizacja i bardzo pomocni gospodarze:) Pokój był wygodny i czysty. Serwowane śniadanie było smaczne. Jadąc z Elle do Tangalle czy Matary można złapać autobus tuż przed tunelem. Warto też o różne wskazówki zapytać właścicieli :), których serdecznie pozdrawiam 👋

The nicest people ever and a very comfortable stay
Pros:

This place is in a lovely location, just off the main road so it’s nice and quiet. The hosts were so welcoming, kind and friendly. They accommodated any requests we had and couldn’t have been nicer people.

Cons:

The WiFi wasn’t really working but we have SIM cards so it wasn’t an issue

This place is in a prime location, right behind the railway station with fabulous views of the town and valley in which Ella sits. The owners speak English very well and are a great source of knowledge for onward travel in Sri Lanka as well as the culture and history of the country. The breakfast is superb. Everything is spotlessly clean. The beds were comfortable and there was proper hot water in the bathroom for the shower.

It's possible to take a shortcut to the town centre by going through the station over the bridge across the rails. Banks, shops, bars etc are all just a couple of minutes' walk away.

Some of the rooms have more natural light than others. The one we had only had windows at the front which made it feel a bit cave-like.

The towels were small and a bit on the thin side and I suspect made of some cotton and synthetic mix. This made it difficult to dry off properly. The humidity in the area makes it tricky to get washing and towels dry but the owners happily replaced our towels each day with fresh ones.

Note that this property is about 50 metres up a track from the main road. The trackway is a little steep and gets very wet and gritty during heavy rain. Cars are able to get up here but some taxi drivers might refuse to. It's no problem for a tuk-tuk.

Alles fußläufig zu erreichen, 5 min. In die City. Man hört abends trotzdem die Musik in der Unterkunft.
Das frühstück wird immer frisch zubereitet u. Ist sehr lecker!
Man bekommt ausgezeichnete Tipps für den Aufenthalt in ella

Pros:

We had a wonderful stay at this property. The location is perfect just a short walking distance to Ella town and only a few minutes away from all the main attractions, restaurants, and shops, making it incredibly convenient for exploring the area.

The place was spotless and very well maintained, and the rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the owners was extremely helpful, ensuring we were comfortable throughout our stay. The breakfast was absolutely fabulous fresh, delicious, and beautifully prepared. We would definitely stay here again!
