It was an unfortunate night for me, but I’m sure it would be fine for others given what it is.
Pros:

I went to town for a wedding and just needed a bed to sleep so this place seemed ideal. They mentioned having oatmeal and waffles for the guests, but I just went here for a bed to sleep (and a bathroom).
I guess the saying is true, you get what you pay for. It was a cheap option close enough to where I had to be.

Cons:

I didn’t like that I had to send a photo of my ID via text before getting information on how to get in, it didn’t feel safe/secure. I really wish I could have been greeted by someone when I checked in or something! When I finally arrived, the place was TOO quiet, and seems like there was only one bathroom even though it’s 4 bedrooms with multiple beds in the rooms. Fortunately I didn’t have an issue with that but it could be a problem if more people were there.
My room had 3 beds, one had a suitcase next to it but I never saw another person. And the the other two beds were made but seemed loosely made- I couldn’t tell if someone had already slept where I did or if they were fresh sheets.
My room was very dark when I returned at night and I didn’t know if the owner of the suitcase was in the room so I was hesitant to turn on a light. I also didn’t know anything about who might potentially be in the room with me so I couldn’t fully rest, not to mention- the unsettling quite that was originally noticed earlier soon got disrupted just before midnight with the smoke detector chirping every 30 seconds. Eventually I woke up at 630 but since it was Sunday and nothing was open yet, I couldn’t get out there fast enough. I was grateful to have a place to pee and a bed to sleep in - but my overall experience was a bit unsettling unfortunately.

Clean and comfortable, this facility fills a void for solo travelers in the Charlotte area.
Pros:

KITCHEN FACILITIES ADEQUATE, pancake batter available. Otherwise, bring and cook your own. Good security. Well maintained.

Cons:

Inadequate parking for multiple guests. This is a house with four bedrooms. Not near public transit.

Pros:

If you need a place just for a Night or 2. Don't mind a twin bed. You will be just fine here. Even tho it's a shared space everyone usually have their own room. It was 4 beds in my room but I was the only one there.

Cons:

Tight parking if you have a large vehicle good luck.

Hakuna Matata hostel in Charlotte - review of stay
Pros:

I enjoyed the setup and speaking with my dorm mate. He was an interesting fellow. The ease of access made it convenient for a nimble traveler like me.

Cons:

I reckon it is challenging to maintain cleanliness of a remote hostel house, especially when so many travelers pass through. That should be the expectation though.

Comfortable and conveneient

Cons:

Ran out of supplies like paper towels. Only paper plates and bowls. Black mold around the vents, the bathroom was dirty. Shower requires you to pull down the actual faucet and while it's listed on the wall, it's not actually explained to someone who hasn't used that style shower before and naturally wouldn't think to move the hidden piece you don't normally need to pull down. Previous visitors left dirty dishes in the sink.
