Walking distance to the beach, included drinking water, basic but had everything I needed. Hendro was great and was able to organise car transfer with him. I enjoyed doing surf lessons and was able to use the surfboard the rest of the day. I also enjoyed eating at his Warung, the food his wife makes is fantastic! And very affordable.
It is basic and there is some maintenance needed on the facilities but the price is good and this wouldn’t stop me from staying again. There was a little confusion finding the room as Hendro owns a few different homestays under different names, but he’s easily contactable by phone call.
Friendly host that's always available to help! Breakfast was nice. An affordable stay at Pulau Merah, good value for money!
The rooms are quite low standard, a bit worn out and not the cleanest, however the deluxe room is ok.
It was incredible! Hendros surf camp is amazing and it makes you feel at home! i came for 2 nights ended up staying 8! Hendro is very attentive and was an amazing host while also an amazing surf instructor my skills improved a lot!

Hendro is a really great guy, whose easy going and who you can talk to about life. The place is walking distance from the beach and you can rent surfboards at his place too.
Sometimes a bit chaotic but fast response on his telephone makes up for it!
Hendro is awesome ! Great location on the beach and good selection of boards to rent from him too. The free breakfast in the morning was amazing too.
Absolutely gorgeous stay next to the beach (200m) great room and even better hospitality. Stayed here for almost a week and had the best time, great waves right outside the stay, Hendro has board rentals at a good price which is open from early morning till after sunset so you'll never miss out on catching some fun ones. The homestay also serves really tasty banana pancakes with tea for breakfast. The hospitality and help from Hendro is unmatched, provided with all the information and help needed from information of the surf in the surroundings areas to transfers to the airport after my stay was finished.

This is a SCAM. I booked 3 rooms, 2 through booking.com and one through Agoda. The facility DID NOT EXIST. We arrived at the address at about 7.30 pm. An old lady opened the door, and called HENDRO, supposedly the owner of Hendro's surf camp. I spoke to him. He said that the 2 regular rooms are in separate locations from the one VIP room which is also in different place. He said he will ask someone from different homestay tonoick us up. I said I don't want to stay in separate location from my family. Then he said "Let me just canceled it so you don't get charged by booking.com"
Surf life on its best haha, people are really lovely. Hendro trys to help as much as he can. And hes a great teacher.
If you book the cheap rooms, don't forget earplugs, road is sometimes noisy.
The place is super close to the beach and still kinda private! There are some nice Warungs around - Hendro’s Warung is the best tho! :)
Hendro is an awesome host! He showed us around, gave us surfing lessons and was just generally nice and helpful - we would always come back to this place!
Pulau Merah is near the famous surf of G-land, but not close enough to visit without some help (and a jeep). Hendro took out several days to tour me through the mangroves (introducing me to the famous walking fish!), journey into the jungle, and finally visit the surf I’ve heard about for years. Along the way we met a bunch of his friends and I picked up some Indonesian too!
If you’re arriving with interest in Alas Purwo national park, surfing G-land, or any number of other activities in the vicinity, I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending Hendro as your host and guide.
Arrival was a bit confusing as I didn’t meet Hendro till later. He eventually came by in the evening to make a plan for the coming days.
Classic backpacker spot right next to the beach (100m). Hendro is a lovely guy and was super helpful during my stay.
Epic amount sof plastic that washes in from the sea every day. The locals do regulars clear ups which was good to see. You can join in. Hopefully the government will ban one use plastics soon

Noisy traffic and matras maybe suitable for indonesian guests but surely not for bule.
Hendro is very nice, i has a Great time, we did some trips to the Mangroves and to the Jungle, it was Awsome.
