Pros:

Vlakbij de kust, heel goede prijs-kwaliteit verhouding. Ondanks moeilijke communicatie, zeer vriendelijke mensen! De zoon neemt je op vraag mee met een kokosnootbootje naar een afgelegen stukje strand om te snorkelen. Mogelijkheid tot diner en ontbijt! De kamers zijn eenvoudig, maar alles is aanwezig wat er hoort te zijn.

The best home stay !
Pros:

the best homestay we had in vietnam. lau thu and his family were amazing and nothing was too much trouble. we had breakfast and family dinner by the beach, they took us to a secluded beach to snorkel and also rented mopeds from them to explore the island. couldn’t recommend it more

Cons:

getting there is a bit tricky as the collected us on mopeds which wasn’t ideal with our big bags but other than that the perfect stay

Pros:

Authentic family run guesthouse. The owner took me out fishing! Great location in a quiet village - recommend getting a scooter as you leave the port. It is basic but it’s the price you pay for

Cons:

Wasn’t a huge issue but they don’t speak English so just be prepared for that.

Close to beach, stayed with family in Homestay who arranged everything we needed including meals, transport and snorkeling, very relaxing and family very helpful, exceptionally clean, comfortable bed, thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will recommend to friends and family to visit

Fantastic homestay, would 100% come back.
Pros:

Cham Island Lau Thu homestay was honestly fantastic. Lau Thu and his family embraced mine wonderfully. Super attentive and patient with our small kids also. They were accomodating with excursions/transport and their breakfast and dinners, all very delicious. We loved our stay and would have stayed longer, if we could have. A superbly located homestay and the peacefulness of that part of the island was very relaxing and a great contrast to the chaos of the bigger cities. If given the opportunity again, we will be back to Lau Thu homestay. Absolutely loved our time there.

Cons:

Motorcycle and water safety- better fitting helmets and life jackets for children was the only thing I could really fault.

Good place, needs better communication
Pros:

Overall, we had a good stay. The family is very nice, welcoming and friendly. The room is basic but okay for that price. We loved our time on this island, but it could be improved with better communication. Recommend for a stay of 1-2 nights

Cons:

The main problem here is miscommunication. We had initially booked 1 night through booking.com and then asked them via message if we could extend one more night - which they happily confirmed. When we arrived they insisted that we had booked for only one night. They had an overbooking. After a short discussion using a translator we could agree to stay.

We asked them if there was any place on the island where we could go snorkeling by ourselves, without a tour. They said no, only with boat. So we booked their boat tour and later found out that there was actually a nearby beach with much better corals than the ones they had shown us. The boat trip was ok, but it felt like they didn’t tell us about the other place to sell their tour.

When we arrived to the island, they waited for us with a motorbike taxi to take us to the homestay. Our plan was to rent a scooter from the town and return it before we leave. But like this we were forced to go with their taxi service and later rent the scooter with them. They need to communicate the pick-up service in advance. Like this we ended up paying 280 VND for that, which we could have saved if we directly rented a scooter.

Nobody here speaks any English, which makes it difficult to communicate.

Authentic experience with friendly family.
Pros:

Very friendly family that’s makes you feel like home. They also have the nicest dog. Room was comfortable and had a great roof terrace with nice views. You stay in an authentic village,. The family dinner at 7 on the beach was plentiful and tasty.

Salle de bain pas propre
Pros:

L'emplacement dans le petit village de pêcheurs à 4 km de l'embarcadère (mieux vaut avoir un scooter)

Cons:

La salle de bain est annoncée comme privée mais elle est sur le palier et non dans la chambre.
Elle n'était pas propre non plus.
Personne ne parle anglais.
L'accueil est plutôt froid.

Les propriétaires sont accueillants et font leur possible pour que nous passions un bon séjour.
Le fait de prendre le petit déjeuner et le dîner face à la mer, sur le port.
Le fait qu'ils nous attendaient à la sortie du bateau .
