Pros:

The man at the front desk was friendly.

Cons:

The room has a very stale smell, the floors had an oily slip to it, old drink spills were visible on the floor, the walls had smudges and food stains, the pillows were super lumpy and felt like the filling had disintegrated, the breakfast bar was sparse and left messy from other guests.

Business trip so location was ideal

Cons:

Room was missing ironing board and ironing. Roaches in the bathroom and sinks. Free Breakfast? No water to make oatmeal. Water tank has been empty most of my stay. Kept having to get both key cards reset because the door lock was malfunctioning.

The room was nice and the bed was comfortable.

Cons:

I was supposed to stay at Days Inn, but they shoved me over to the motel next door because they’re under the same management. Fine—whatever. The room at America’s Best Value Inn itself was actually decent, and the bed was comfortable. Most of the staff were friendly… except for the guy working the morning shift.

That’s where everything went downhill.

When I checked out, I was supposed to get my $50 deposit back after they inspected the room. Instead, he comes back and tells me there was “pet hair everywhere.” That’s complete nonsense. I didn’t have any pets with me—none. I even told him to go look in my vehicle to prove it, but he flat-out refused. Didn’t even bother to verify, just kept my money.

So basically, they made up an excuse and took my $50.

I’m beyond frustrated and angry about this. I will NEVER stay at America’s Best Value Inn again, and I strongly warn anyone else thinking about it—don’t. Unless you’re okay with them keeping your deposit for no legitimate reason.
