Die Lage ist hervorragend, direkt an der U-Bahn und außen herum Restaurants, Cafés und Vintage Läden. Wir waren zu viert Familie mit zwei Teenagern 👍👍👍
The property was spacious for 2 people, was well equipped and a cool oasis for a muggy summer in Tokyo! The location is primed for exploring the Shimokitazawa area (you’re right at the start of the vintage shops) and super close to the station. I would definitely stay here and at other Illi Sun places going forward and recommend to friends! I also thought it was super well priced compared to other accomodation around Tokyo that we’ve booked. We also had a balcony as we were on the 3rd floor apartment, so that was an added bonus to be able to sit out when the weather cooled down and do some people watching.
Echoing a lot of the other comments, it’s crazy how much having a slightly later check in than other properties makes a difference to the flow of the day, especially since it’s unmanned and you have to leave your luggage elsewhere. Leaving our luggage at the nearby bounce was easy as our suitcases were too big to fit in the lockers at the train station. However, We also had a bicycle that we were unable to find anywhere that would store it for us, so my partner was forced to be outside with his expensive bike for the better part of 6 hours in 35 degree heat. This isn’t necessarily a concern of the property, but it is something to consider when you’re travelling as other hotels would be able to store all your luggage no issues.
One other thing I will mention is if you need pitch black to fall asleep, make sure you have an eye mask. As it is a studio apartment and the bedroom area doesn’t close off, the light from the exit sign and fire alarm throws a glow out that could be a problem for some.
Una estancia fantástica en todos los sentidos
Nos ha encantado nuestra estancia en Illi Sun. El alojamiento nos ha gustado muchísimo desde el primer momento: es precioso, cuidado al detalle, muy limpio y cómodo. Se nota mucho el mimo en el diseño y en cada pequeño detalle, y tenía todo lo necesario para disfrutar de la estancia.
Aunque no conocimos personalmente al equipo, la comunicación ha sido excelente en todo momento: rápida, clara y muy atenta, lo que hizo que todo resultara muy fácil.
Nos hemos sentido muy a gusto y sin duda ha sido uno de esos alojamientos que hacen que la experiencia del viaje sea todavía mejor. Repetiríamos sin dudarlo y lo recomendamos totalmente.

Lovely spacious place with balcony.
Check in was inflexible - 4pm. Check out was also inflexible at 10am. This meant we had wasted time before being able to access the flat.
Excellent location for exploring Shimokitazawa. Quite large room, even for European standards. Plenty of space for opening luggage. Great with area to sit and open large window. Comfortable beds. Nice touch with coffee, snack, and water.
Forgot that check in is 16 and that this is not a staffed hotel. Needed to store luggage, but found a great fix within a 3 minute walk. Just remember, especially if you are flying in as we did.
The location was amazing right near the Shimo-Kitazawa station. The view was incredible especially at sunset. The laundry was a nice touch plus the amount of towels provided
There was a musky smell when we first entered. Once the air con was on and windows open it was fine. For the top bunk, not a lot of air flow so it was harder to sleep up there
Best location! We really appreciated the generous balcony and being right in the centre of Shimokitazawa. Very spacious and clean and no shortage of fun and amazing food right on the door step. Loved it!
What we loved
A great find in Tokyo, in such a cool area, just two minutes from the train station and the vintage shopping district. We stayed in an apartment on the 5th floor with lovely views over the city.
This company really knows how to impress. Nice touches included ear plugs, chocolate popcorn, and a facial spray and moisturiser in the bathroom. The apartment itself was spacious and really well done.
We only stayed one night on our way out, and wished we'd discovered this place on the way in instead. We'll definitely rebook here.
Two large double beds - bunk beds.
A couple of practical notes: there's no reception, so you log in yourself. You pre-register your passports and get a pin code, so make sure you do this in advance before you arrive on-site. Wifi was good, and there's a washing machine in the apartment too.
What we didn't like
Please add some tea options for non-coffee drinkers; only coffee was offered.
Other than that, couldn't fault this place. I've travelled all around the world, and this was amazing. Nice work !!!
Excellent location
The property's biggest advantage is its excellent location, but unfortunately it didn't offer good value for money. Although it is advertised as sleeping four people, the sleeping arrangements are misleading. The beds are very small, and the loft room is only really suitable for one person at most. As a result, my teenage children ended up sleeping on the sofas.
The property is also looking quite tired and would benefit from some updating and general refurbishment. Given the price, I expected a much higher standard of comfort and accommodation.

Needed a reading lamp on corner table by sofa. Toilet room smelled bad. In a strange way- when we got there and it did not go away.
