Had everything needed in the room

Noisy outside but expected as in city centre
Well located budget accommodation
It’s an odd property, as you rather feel like you’re entering a lecture centre or similar! But, once you’re in and you climb the stairs to the top floor the feeling changes, a bit rough round the edges, but my room was very well appointed, everything you would expect from a hotel room, with the added bonus of a microwave and fridge which was a nice touch. Overall the cleanliness was good and value for money considering the amount we paid, but honestly, I wouldn’t pay any more for what I got.
As I was going to a show at the Birmingham Hippodrome the location couldn’t have been better too.
The property was reasonably close to the city centre and the owner was kind to allow me a late check out at no extra cost. For a short and affordable stay, it was okay overall
The room was quite basic and a little dated, and cleanliness could have been better. I found a used razor on the bathroom floor and there was no hairdryer. The area was also quite noisy in the evening and I personally did not feel completely comfortable walking around the neighbourhood at night. There was also some confusion about my late check out, as the cleaner had not been informed and entered the room in the morning while I was still there. She was very apologetic once I explained the situation, so it seemed to be simply a communication issue.

Unfortunately, our stay at this hotel was extremely disappointing and did not match what was advertised. The room was advertised as being much larger than it actually was, and when we arrived, the room was considerably smaller than expected.
There were cigarette burns on the headboard, brown stains on the carpet and the overall condition of the room was not what we expected for the price we paid. The window was also broken and did not shut properly, which was particularly concerning.
The surrounding area also did not feel very pleasant or welcoming. Overall, the room looked very different from the photos and description online, which felt misleading.
Unfortunately, based on our experience, we would not stay here again and would recommend that the hotel is more accurate with its room advertising and improves the cleanliness and maintenance of its rooms.
