Wonderful--provided you don't mind the walk
Pros:

Superb view. Friendly staff. Spacious, clean accomodation.

Cons:

A little ways off from the centre and considering darjeeling's steep roads, it could be a turn off for those who can't make the walk. That said, I doubt you'd get the magnificent view and spacious balcony at a hotel near the centre.

Pros:

Location was good, close to main road
Rooms were spacious, we had a Mountain View room
Staff were cooperative
Food was tasty and they even packed our breakfast as we had to leave early the next day

Cons:

Don’t book cabs from these guys, they charge you much higher as their own commission. For a 5km ride, we ended up paying Rs. 2,500
