Aegean Dream Hotel

Bathroom is a little bit old. A renevation would be good.

We booked two rooms through Booking.com in February. Since we were travelling with children and wanted our daughter to enjoy the holiday together with her friend, having the rooms next to each other was important to us.
At check-in, we were informed that one of the adjacent rooms originally intended for us had been given to another family because an elderly member of that family had undergone leg surgery. This change was made without consulting us beforehand.
We had no objection whatsoever to the hotel helping another guest. Our objection was to this being done by changing another guest’s existing room arrangement without consent.
When we asked for our original arrangement to be respected, we were told to “have some compassion.”
The Turkish-speaking staff member, Belgin, also claimed that our reservation did not indicate that children were included. We showed our Booking.com reservation and demonstrated that this was incorrect. The hotel’s own rooming list also showed our booking as being for three guests.
We were assigned rooms 55 and 72. They were not adjacent and were not on the same level. Moving between the two rooms with children involved outdoor areas, stairs, ramps and changes in elevation.
Some of the higher-level sections of the property are also not particularly practical for families with young children. Families travelling with children may therefore wish to confirm the exact room location in advance.
When we objected to the arrangement, the communication became unprofessional. Belgin described us as “cruel,” “heartless” and “people with big egos.”
We gave the hotel the opportunity to find a solution during our four-day stay, but no appropriate solution was provided.
When we contacted Booking.com, the hotel informed Booking.com that there was no problem.
During the same process, a proposal was relayed to us through Booking.com stating that, if we wished, we could leave the hotel for the remaining two nights.
