Simply the worst experience I have ever had on Booking.com.

I asked ahead of time whether an iron was available, and I was told it was. When I arrived, I was informed that it would be available the next day, which was perfectly fine (although I would have preferred to bring my own iron if I had known it wouldn't be available when I needed it).

I stayed for six days, and there was no cleaning or emptying of the trash, which was also fine. Imagine my surprise, however, when instead of simply letting me know that the host needed the iron back a few days later—or sending me a message or asking for it while I was in the room—she decided to enter my room while I was out and go through my closet to find it.

The next day, while I was in my room, she barged in AGAIN without even giving me the opportunity to let her in. She simply walked straight into the room. That in itself was extremely uncomfortable and showed a complete lack of respect for my privacy. Instead of apologizing and explaining what had happened, she RAN out the door and then closed her own door in my face when I asked her what had happened. I asked why she had entered my room, and instead of opening her door, she kept yelling "alles gut" through it. When I insisted on getting an explanation for why she had entered my room without any warning while I was there, the excuse I eventually received through someone else (using a poor translation app) was that she wanted to return the iron. 1) I was there, and she DIDN'T have the iron with her! 2) If that really was the reason, why run away and slam the door instead of simply returning it?

It is also misleading that the listing states that English is spoken. Communication relied entirely on a translation app, which caused numerous misunderstandings.

I also experienced the same issues that many other reviewers have mentioned: an very thin blanket, the tiniest shower, and no kettle (which was the only thing I actually needed from the kitchen).

Ruhige Nebenstraße ohne Verkehrslärm, originelle Einrichtung, präzise Erläuterungen für Gäste, die zum ersten Mal übernachten; problemloses Parken nur 100 Meter entfernt, zahlreiche Restaurants und eine nettes Kaffee in der Umgebung

Pros:

Sehr nette Begrüßung, Parkplatz kann direkt vor der Pension gegen Gebühr reserviert werden. Unterstellmöglichkeit für Räder vorhanden. Zimmer so wie beschrieben, bequeme Betten, kleine Terasse. Rewe direkt gegenüber, Lokale in unmittelbarer Umgebung und die Nähe zum Rhein machen die Lage perfekt.

Cons:

Ich bevorzuge immer kleine familiengeführte Pensionen vor großen Schickimickihotels. Und das soll keine Kritik sein, aber eines muss ich doch anmerken. Teppich im Zimmer ist einfach nicht mehr zeitgemäß und unhygienisch. Da leidet einfach der Wohlfühlcharakter. Die Küchenutensilien wie z.b. Gläser waren sehr verstaubt, hab ich nicht benützt. Die Terasse könnte auch mal ein Update gebrauchen. Ansonsten gibts nix zu meckern und die Freundlichkeit der Besitzer macht einiges wieder wett.

Sehr nette Vermieterin kam sofort, als ich eine Mail geschrieben habe, hat sich entschuldigt für die viel zu dünne Bettdecke
