Super la posizione, comodo l ascensore, la stanza era pulita.
Arredamento decrepito, colazione insoddisfacente

Abbiamo raggiunto tutto a piedi. Apprezzatissima la presenza del bidet in bagno!
The public areas, eg the lobby are ornate and there are some lovely tiled wall decorations. The staff without excetion were warm and welcoming. Prices in the bar were very reasonable. The location (close to Sao Bento station and in a vibrant central area) was very good - top part of the city. The breakfast was nice, if a little limited in variety. For us, who spent very little time in the hotel beyond sleeping and eating breakfast it served us very well for a very reasonable price.
The bed rooms have seen better days and are a little 'tired'. Being from the UK, we missed not having tea and coffee making facilities. The were some strange rules in the breakfast room such as being forbidden to fill a water bottle from the water dispenser and being told in no uncertain terms not to take anything from the room for consumption elsewhere, and to clarify, I agree it is not the done thing to make yourself a packed lunch but maybe munching a piece of fruit as you head off isn't too naughty! Midday check out was helpful for us.

L'emplacement
Insonorisation a revoir.
The hotel building itself is full of charm and character, which initially gave us high hopes. Unfortunately, the experience quickly fell short of expectations.
The one truly outstanding aspect of our stay (and the main reason I am leaving this review) was the older gentleman at reception who checked us in( 9 July evening). He was the definition of professionalism and genuine hospitality—courteous, attentive, and effortlessly welcoming. His service was so exceptional that it reminded us of the level of care you might expect at some of the finest five-star hotels. Meeting someone like him in a modest two-star hotel was completely unexpected and genuinely memorable. Thank you so much maestro for your professionalism and dedication to your work🙏
It was a real pleasure to meet you!
It's a shame that such an exceptional member of staff is let down by the condition of the hotel itself.
The facilities are very old and appear to be poorly maintained (especially bath/shower😔). Cleanliness was also a significant issue, making the stay feel quite uncomfortable. The breakfast was disappointing, poor quality.
