We spent 3 nights at The Duke Hotel in Bath, and it was excellent, from the very moment we arrived.
The staff were exceptional and our room, well, it just took our breath away, it was amazing.
There is an air of elegance throughout this wonderful hotel.
The food is exceptional, the bar and dining rooms are stunning.
Jose, was so attentive throughout our stay, he made our stay all the more enjoyable.
Thank you The Duke Hotel, Bath, we shall return.
Not quite as good an experience as we would have expected.
When we arrived we were advised we had been upgraded to a better room, great!
We were given the Grafton Room.
What we were not told is that the upgraded room was on the second floor (four flights of long stairs), next to a room which was being renovated. There were tools and a ladder outside our door so we could hear banging and dull thuds from within our own room for long periods.
The room was okay, no real view, it was missing a fan, so we had to go and report that and there was a down light hanging out from the shower area with an exposed wire, not exactly safe!
This hotel is not cheap and so we feel it was not worth what we paid.
Beautiful hotel in one of the most iconic locations in Bath. Close to my home and a place I know well.
Beautiful decor, gorgeous comfortable rooms, great customer service and a fantastic bar/lounge area worth visiting just for drinks even if you are not staying at the hotel. I will be visiting soon again.
Loved everything. I’m a local and a place I know well. Maybe air con as i spent the hottest night of the year in the hotel but in Bath some Georgian properties/buildings can not get air conditioning installed due to the nature of the building.
Der Mitarbeiter Evy Gold hat genau erkannt was ich brauche und hat mir das Gefühl gegeben ein willkommener und geschätzter Gast zu sein.
Die Buttermilk pancakes zum Frühstück waren der Hammer!

Lovely Georgian property
Great location, lovely decor and rooms. Superb breakfast. Hot tub a bonus! Very friendly staff. Go try you won't regret!
We loved the room! It was large with a comfortable queen size bed. Nicely decorated.
We had to park at another location, but it was close and there were plenty of spaces. The only downside was that the toilet was iffy. Sometimes it flushed and sometimes it didn't - unfortunately.
We had a lovely stay at the Duke’s hotel - staff couldn’t do enough for us and t e location is ideal, an easy 10 min walk from Bath centre. We had the York room which was allocated after I asked to avoid too many stairs - it was very comfortable (do ask for more pillows if you need them, as they were a bit too flat for our needs!) Breakfast was excellent, lots of choice and cooked to order. Overall it was a very relaxed and pleasant stay, if the weather had been better we would have enjoyed the outside space too.
The entrance hallway area and reception were great
The top floor room was definitely not worth the £256.50 we paid for it . I don’t normally write reviews but the quality of the accommodation , bed mattress, room size, faulty plug sockets, broken hair dryer, pokey bathroom , broken window latch (so you could not secure valuables in your room when you went out), squeaky floor and no sound barrier between the corridor and the bedroom has meant that I really need to provide feedback. We expected much more for what we paid .
We stayed a night at Dukes just for a quick getaway to Bath. Had a great time. Lovely upgrade to a suite. Nice breakfast. Would stay again
Spennende innredning , fin beliggenhet. God service fra hyggelige ansatte. Herlig frokost i fantastisk spisesal. Delikat og rent i hele hotellet. Mange trapper opp ble premiert med et fantastisk rom i toppetasjen.
Wanted something special for a special occasion and this more than hit the mark. Booked a four poster suite. The room was fabulous, very comfortable and spacious. Room and bathroom were immaculately clean. After visiting sites in Bath it was a lovely room to come back to and sit down and relax.
Good choice for breakfast. Enjoyed the cooked breakfast.
Staff were friendly, helpful and made us feel very welcome.
Central location, just across Pulteney Bridge, within walking distance of attractions and the railway station.
We really enjoyed our stay. Hope you guys got the mural sorted out.
Lovely welcome spacious clean room
No fresh milk
I do not care about posh public spaces, signature cocktails, or a hot tub. I care about a clean, comfortable room with a functional bathroom. In these ways our suite fell short, from the aged and uncomfortable seating and the unstable table, to the long black hairs appearing seemingly everywhere, to the wall shower knob too stiff to turn and the hand shower that sprayed water from every joint (and the toilet the sometimes flushed and sometimes didn't, and the cold water tap that wouldn't run cold).
As other reviews have noted, the staff is lovely and extremely responsive, although none seemed to be very knowledgeable about Bath. They were quick to attempt to resolve problems (e.g., sending someone to glue the hand shower handle because it spun out of control), but also explained that anything that couldn't be repaired wouldn't be replaced, because the suite is due for refurbishment.
The location is terrific--convenient, yet slightly removed from the hubbub of the city center.
I'm sure the Norfolk Suite--and other rooms awaiting refurbishment--will be lovely in the future. This is no consolation to someone who paid the full cost for a substandard experience.
What a fantastic hotel. Stayed there for our wedding weekend. Staff couldn’t be more helpful and suite was exceptional. Even had a hand written congratulations card waiting for us.
Friendly helpful staff and good location. Great breakfast and clean rooms.
We stayed in the York room, which was lovely , amazing bathroom, and very spacious. The hotel was lovely and clean, the staff were really nice, breakfast was very tasty. We had a few drinks at the bar which were very nice. We were very lucky with the weather and used the hot tub , which was complimentary as booked direct with the hotel . We parked in the sister hotel the bird which is just up the road, this also looked very nice. The walk into town was about 10 mins and we found sone great places to eat and drink.
Lovely Townhouse hotel . Wonderful decor throughout the hotel. Large room with extremely comfortable bed. Breakfast was excellent, high quality.
Hotel is well situated to explore all of Bath.
Great hotel and really interesting visit to the Roman Baths. Hotel was excellently situated within easy walking distance of the city centre and all attractions.
