A disappointing experience
Pros:

From the outside, the hotel is very impressive.

Cons:

Inside is extremely disappointing. It felt very bare and not at all grand. The walk to the suite was depressing. It looked like it needed a lot of money investing in it and a bit of love to bring it up to where it really should be. It’s certainly not what it apparently once was unfortunately.
Overall it was overpriced and not good value for money.

Beautiful, comfy and lovely staff
Pros:

Staff are great, super kind and helpful
Beautiful location, peacocks lovely addition, great room very clean everywhere, great shower, comfy bed. We were kindly provided with a cot bed for baby.

Cons:

I think they should have a coffee machine. A simple bean to cup would make breakfast 100 times better.
Breakfast is 8:30-10 and we went for 10 but they actually close at this time so reduced food items etc, they still let us have breakfast but no fresh food around that time

We'll be back !!
Pros:

Went for a spa afternoon for my partners birthday and decided to book a room beforehand to extend the experience of the castle. It was more than what we expected. I'd seen reviews on line saying it could do with a lick of paint, it's dated etc - at the end of the day it's a castle and it was kept in the way it should be. The staff couldn't have been any more helpful than they were !! All in all myself and my partner had a fabulous spa afternoon, lunch, evening meal & stay and will be back !

Cons:

Nothing !! For us the location was perfect, the grounds were beautiful with informative signs around. I think if anyone finds fault, they are very hard to please !

The location was perfect.All the staff were very pleasant.
Very comfy bed +lovely hot shower.Ample parking.

Cons:

Castle appears run down in places.Could do with a lick of paint +better cleaning.
Advertised as 1/2 board but given £30 allowance.Not quite rite.
1 of our evening meal was good but the other not hot +very tough fish +vegetable.
