The staff was very attentive when cleaning the May flies from the area. (Although I was caught if a windstorm of them as the attendant blew them off the stairs as I walked to my car.) Not fun
The room did not include an iron and ironing board. We had to go to the desk for that.
The door doesn't automatically lock when you leave the room. It was an entire day before I realized I had been leaving my room and belongings unsecure.
The television was hard to operate well. One day it wouldn't turn on, the next day the volume would not work.
Did not like there was no kitchen sink and there was alot of empty space
There was no breakfast
We especial booked here because of the pool. But the pool was dirty. Really needs cleaning. Other than that we loved our suites and the resort was beautiful! Staff was accommodating.
No breakfast.
The pool and the pool side chairs were terrible. All need to be updated and or replaced. I didn’t want to sit on the nasty chairs or swim in the dirty pool.
We did not know there was breakfast. Where was this located?
There was no internet available. The guest internet did not work very well, thus we could access important work emails. The television had very few channels and the channels it did have were not working most of the time we were there. The pool and hot tub were dirty. The bed and couch were not comfortable to sleep on at all. We paid for four nights and ended up leaving after three nights. That is all we could take.
Booked this stay before looking at reviews, some reviews did not sound very positive. After arriving we could not find anything negative about this place. Very clean rooms, staff open and friendly pool and hot tub in very clean, working condition. We had a great 2 day stay. Some previous reviews mentioned "bugs" yes there was some very normal lake insects but being a boater we are very familiar with lake insects. Some months can be worse than others. Get over it and enjoy this property. Great views, great staff and the well above condition of this hotel. If you brought your car over for your stay, parking can get a little tricky late at night but workable.
Location
Bad bed, staff not present
Dirty rooms broken TVs looked out of room at 9:30 am before we wanted to check out no staff to get help dirty coffee maker. Broken bathroom exhaust fan worn out bed woke up sore. For the money not worth it
Absolutely doesn’t not worth what I paid for ( $400 for night) I don’t know even why it is calling Resort because it’s like cheap motel small stinky dirty dusty room just waste of money
This room was spacious and the bed were comfortable. We came with two adults and two children, we liked the pool area as well and spent a good a deal of time there. We did rent a golfcart and visit the the groves, the museum, and several other nature parks.
This isn't a place (Kelly's Island) that is entirely kid friendly. There is a lot of loud restaurants and people. Several wedding parties having a really good time, which is great, but had to explain some things to my 9 year old. The Resort itself is about a 1.25 miles from the ferry, which coming in is fine to get a golfcart, but leaving we had to walk carrying our bags. Just be prepared, prices were also inflated and food was just ok on the island.
The hotel was very nice a bit out of date and a little expensive, but it was on an island, the staff was great and let my family who was camping use the pool. Since it was the only choice on Kelly’s Island I would stay agian.
Just being on the Island
3 grandkids and me, two 13 year old girls and 6 year old boy, me 64. Girls got bedroom us pull out bed. Couch was broken. Couldn't sit on it or pull out. Had to sleep 3 nights on floor.
