Atmosphere, rooms, location
Location: walking distance from downtown Palm Springs. Convenient to grab coffee and all of our meals including dessert at a different spot.
Atmosphere: Very well manicured and the property was clean.
Rooms: Pretty spacious and clean as well. Beautifully decorated. Beds were comfy.
Noise level: No disruptions. Considering it was 21+ only, all guests that weekend were kind, friendly, and minded their own business.
Staff: Extremely welcoming and knowledgeable, so accommodating when our initial room had a plumbing issue and had us stay in a different suite for the first day. Felt safe on the property. Parking was easy and plenty of it.
My only thing I’d like the property to add are plug ins to kill tiny flying bugs (possibly mosquitoes). I kept getting bit all over my legs in my suite. There was complimentary bug spray in the bathroom which I appreciated and I brought mine as well but it wasn’t very comfortable staying in the room while wearing shorts. You would think you’d get bit outside but it was only in the suite. Overall, great weekend, worth the value of the stay, and I would recommend this hotel but also recommend to bring pants to lounge in and while you’re getting ready. Standing up doing my make up for an hour, my legs suddenly felt itchy all over and found bite marks. Also like to add, we never let our doors wide open, only when we’re leaving and coming in.
The room was very spacious and clean, the kitchen area was α nice surprise and the back patio with α spa was great! We were steps out the front door from the pool so that was very cool. We had reservations for several restaurants and they all turned out to be within walking distance (even though we drove). Sitting by the pool with all the plants and trees was very peaceful. We loved it and will definitely be back.
My husband & I enjoy this place so very much. We love the serenity! Having a private spa is the best! The room was spacious & clean upon arrival. It's located within walking distance of the shops & restaurants. We highly recommend this place. Also, the staff is friendly. That's a plus!!!
We really enjoyed our at Talavera!! Loved the way it is decorated and how close it was to all the things going on in downtown Palm Springs. Wonderful customer service ... they brought me a couple of flatter pillows at my request. They also mailed my husband the linen shirt he felt at the hotel. Would definitely stay her again!!
Another great stay at Talavera Palm Springs in the Fountain room. They have redecorated the room with some nice furnishings and rugs on the inside and patio furniture on the outside. Jonie is a great Inn Keeper the grounds are beautiful and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. The location is great with most shops and restaurants walking distance from the hotel. Another perk is no resort fee or parking fee. Already planning our next visit to Palm Springs. Thanks Jonie.

My wife and I have been coming to Palm Springs for our anniversary for several years now and Talavera is our favorite spot to stay. Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff, and perfectly located. Very walkable to all of downtown but far enough away to not be too loud even on a Saturday night. LOVE the private jacuzzis.
I was here for my engagement weekend, and the atmosphere was amazing, the service even better. A huge shoutout to Joni, who helped in countless ways with setting up a surprise for my fiancée. The rooms were perfect, clean, and the grounds quiet and peaceful. The location is choice. People have called this an oasis -- I totally agree. Perfect for a romantic weekend getaway. Thank you to the Talavera!
Every detail was a 10 out of 10…from the moment we entered the property, we were transported to a tropical oasis. The check-in, accommodations and attention to detail in everything was five stars. Beautifully decorated and spacious suites with everything you could need including a very comfortable bed. The pools and gardens with the mountain backdrop were unmatched. Joanie the manager who helped us check-in and out, was the icing on a perfect getaway. Can’t wait to return!
Beautiful, quaint, private hotel with all the amenities you need. We stayed in the Velvet Room, which was nicely arranged and located. The bed was incredibly comfortable and loved, loved, loved the private Jacuzzi on the back patio. Also appreciated the clean, well-stocked kitchen, complete with pot, pans, dishes and barware to make my must have gimlets! Definitely coming back again to this place, which is located in a private-like neighborhood west of Palm Canyon Drive, super close to walking to the downtown area.
Excellent location! We walked everywhere and loved the neighborhood restaurants/ bars / shopping! Privacy of the room was amazing!

This was everything we were looking for. The Talavera was the perfect balance of everything we were looking for. We have done boutique hotels in the past, but more often than not we end up at either a hotel, or an air bnb. Other boutique hotels we've stayed at tend to be a little to pretentious, or weird in some way or another. The Talavera on the other hand, was neither. Not only that, but it checked about every box we could think of. The rooms, though clearly older, have been refreshed and are tastefully and clearly lovingly and thoughtfully put together. We chose the Puka suite based off the pictures online, and primarily what looked like the proximity of one of the pools to the room. While it almost looked like the pool was private and only for that room online, we were pretty sure it wasn't based off the description and pictures. That said, for our stay, the pool right outside the Puka suite might as well have been just for us, and it may literally have been the first day or two. The last half, I think we had neighbors staying in the suite next door, but everyone was so quiet, and kept to themselves, it almost felt like we had the whole hotel to ourselves. There were a few other couples we saw evidence of, but rarely ran into anyone but the occasional glimpse of a guest or staff. If you're looking for a fully staffed place to have someone there every second of your stay, I don't think this is the best fit, but if you want a peaceful, private, serene, and we think an overall wonderful experience, especially for a private, romantic couples' vacation, I don't know if you could do much better. The last place we stayed at, while it had its own unique charm, was a little gross, and sort of far outside palm springs. The Talavera, while clearly more expensive, was worth every penny. If I had to say there was a downside, that might be it, it's a little expensive, but for what you're getting, I do think it's worth it. For our mostly weekday vacation, it was doable. I did notice the weekend rate shot way up. Our one Friday night was about triple the cost of our weekday rate, so that one night cost about what the other three nights did. Overall, for what you get and averaging our the cost, you get a beautiful private room, beautiful private little backyard with your own private Jacuzzi, a little mini kitchen, a little mini living room, a spacious bathroom with shower, decent sized TV, and a pool you could use any time of day as long as you respect quiet hours from 9 PM - 9 AM, with your hotel right in downtown Palm Springs, walking distance from many great places, restaurants, shopping, etc.; as I said, I think this is about as good as you're gonna do at this price.
Great service and a very nice atmosphere!
My husband and I were here 3 years ago and we were excited to come back. We were met by the manager, Joanie, once again. Honestly, it was like meeting up with a friend we hadn't seen in a while. She was genuinely happy to see us and excited to show us our suite. Last time, we had stayed in the Puka Suite and this time we were in the Sunset Suite. It's hard to say which we liked best, because they were both wonderful. I can't say enough good things about this place. It's magical, quiet, relaxing, beautiful. Everything you want for a "get away" trip. There are 11 suites to chose from. We've stayed in 2 of them. 9 more to go, and I can't wait!
I wish I had more time there. Pools, staff, room decor, and beautiful garden made our stay. Everything was top top notch. We also enjoyed taking the bikes out. Can't wait to go back!!! I was in resort vacation mode right when I got there.
