Simply my favorite hotel in Japan. At least of all hotels i personally stayed in myself. Everything is perfect. Location is incredible puts you at walking distance of everything you'd want to visit at the historical center of Kyoto and subway, buses and stations are all around so you can easily visit everything around Kyoto. The hotel itself was perfect, from the infrastructure, attention to details and quality of the rooms and service. It truly deserves the best rating.
Very good breakfast with daily made cheeses. Really enjoyed the dedicated barista making coffee. It is near the subway and downtown shopping. Very nice quality hotel. I also really enjoyed having laundry on site.
Nothing really stands out
The staff are accommodating and very helpful. The location is excellent: right in the city centre, in a pleasant area.
The hotel lacks character and a certain spark. The lounge area is not particularly inviting, especially compared with the five-star hotel we stayed at in Tokyo.
The rooms are small and lack a proper table, as well as some basic amenities one would expect from a five-star property, such as a coffee machine and an iron. Even decaffeinated coffee was unavailable, including at the bar. The low ceilings reinforce the impression that the rooms are small. Overall, the layout is clearly not ideal for families.
It is in these details that the hotel falls short of its price point. The early closing hours add to that impression. Overall, it does not feel like a true five-star experience.

Abbiamo avuto un’esperienza molto positiva. La struttura è bella, curata e accogliente, con ambienti moderni e piacevoli.
Le camere hanno dimensioni nella media: non particolarmente grandi, ma neanche troppo piccole, soprattutto considerando gli standard giapponesi. Noi abbiamo scelto una camera con lavasciuga, che si è rivelata comodissima: arrivavamo già da diversi giorni di viaggio e avere la possibilità di lavare e asciugare i nostri vestiti direttamente in camera è stato davvero un grande vantaggio.
Lo staff è sempre stato molto gentile e disponibile.
La colazione è abbondante e offre una buona scelta, sia dolce che salata. L’unico aspetto che secondo noi potrebbe essere migliorato è l’organizzazione: soprattutto negli orari di maggiore affluenza si crea un po’ di confusione e affollamento. Inoltre, soggiornando diversi giorni, ci avrebbe fatto piacere trovare qualche variazione in più nella proposta quotidiana.
Un altro grande punto di forza è sicuramente la posizione: comodissima, a pochi passi dalla stazione della metro Karasuma Oike e vicina alla zona di Teramachi, perfetta per muoversi facilmente e raggiungere le principali zone di Kyoto.
Nel complesso è una struttura che ci è piaciuta.
