The staff were AMAZING. The room was clean, comfortable, had amazing amenities (if you don’t have in the room they have in lobby), amazing public and private bathes, great location, and so much more.
If I ever come back to Kyoto I will be staying here. You will not regret booking here!!!

We have been to Japan many times and the Mitsui Garden brand is always a great choice: nice, good sized rooms, very clean, professional and friendly helpful staff. Ambiance is nice, the decor is very beautifully Asian with interior gardens, it gives an Asian vibe with many comforts that we are used to. Breakfast is exceptional, made to order dishes with many options with eggs and also a buffet where you get your side dishes. There is a barista to prepare your coffee and everything is tasty and high quality. The location is good walkable to many places and also a 5 min walk from a subway/metro station that would take you around. It is right in front of Kyoto Museum.

Location
1. Staff: I had to call five times and practically beg them just to get water bottles.
2. Service: The room was cleaned only once during our stay. The toilet smelled bad. They never removed the used cups, and we had to ask them to take them away. We also had to request bathrobes ourselves.
3. Facilities: They call themselves a 5-star hotel, but in reality they’re more like a 2 or 3-star. The only genuinely useful facility is the laundry room, and even that comes at an extra charge.
4. Value: For the price they charge per night, the very least they could have done is offer a complimentary breakfast.
