Urban Quarters - Gülhane

We knew that it was right on the tram line..so we couldn't be dropped off or picked up at the door. But it was pretty easy to work around.

Bathroom shower needs a deep cleaning.
Lack of shelves in bathroom.
Walls are dark needs more lighting.

The property looked like the photos but on closer inspection some things needed to be better maintained / fixed e.g. the bathroom cabinet fell off the hinges during our stay and it looked like it had already been fixed once before. We had issues accessing the apartment when checking in which caused some stress late at night. Lack of direct access to staff made this more difficult to resolve. A simple lockbox instead of an electronic keypad could fix this easily.

Es ist sehr hellhörig, man hört draussen immer das Tram und viel Lärm.
Nur grob geputzt, der Boden und das Bett waren in Ordnung ansonsten waren alle Küchenschränke und der Spiegel voller Putzspuren und der Herd war verklebt und das Waschbecken war voller Kalkflecken. Man sagte uns dann, dass alles nur Wasserflecken sind und bot uns eine erneute Reinigung an, wir haben es dann aber so hingenommen, da wir sowieso den ganzen Tag draussen waren.
Wir haben ein Babybett reserviert, welches bei der Ankunft nicht da war. Man teilte man uns mit, dass dieses am nächsten Tag da wäre und wir dies nicht reserviert hätten. Nach langem Hin und Her bekamen wir dann das reservierte Bett. Es war sehr mühsam, nach der langen Reise noch einem reservierten Bett nachzurennen da waren wir sehr entäuscht.

On the downside, it was possible to hear the tram and street announcements from outside. However, this didn’t bother us much, as we usually woke up early and returned to the room quite tired in the evenings, so it didn’t affect our sleep.

However, there were several issues that made the stay less comfortable, especially for three people over a longer period. The sleeping setup wasn’t ideal, while there is a bed, the third person has to sleep on a sofa that doesn’t convert into a proper bed, which became quite uncomfortable over multiple nights.

We also experienced electricity outages twice during our stay. One of the nights we had to get ready completely in the dark, and the second time it happened on our departure day, which delayed us.

The apartment wasn’t very well equipped for three guests. There were only two plates and two mugs, no bowls, which made basic things like eating meals inconvenient. Supplies like toilet paper were also insufficient for a week-long stay.

Another issue was with the hot water. When showering one after another, the hot water would run out quickly, it would start to go cold midway through the second person’s shower, and by the third person it was often completely cold.

Additionally, the lighting in the apartment is quite dim, making it difficult to get ready, especially in the evenings.
