The hotel is very well located equidistant to each of La Punta and Zicatel. We particularly likes that the section of the beach closest to the hotel was very quiet. The facilities were good, the hotel provided helpful recommendations and contacts in Puerto as well as chairs and an umbrella for the beach which were much appreciated. Pool area was nice. Communication was good.

I stayed at Casa Mava with 3 friends. We stayed in the two bedroom apartment. We had a great experience at the property. The staff was extremely accommodating, very helpful, and very friendly. We also visited the associated cafe next door and found the staff there great as well. The property and apartment was beautiful and well appointed with everything we needed. They thoroughly cleaned everyday although you could opt out if you did not need your room cleaned. We got lots of use out of our private plunge pool as well as the rooftop pool and lounge area. Beds and pillows were quite comfortable. The location was great as well. We were able to easily walk to La Punta and Zicatela and the beach was only 2 blocks away. I would return to the property and would highly recommend it to others.

An oasis of calm and rest, great bed and a peaceful decor

My partner and I stayed here for 5 nights for our honeymoon and we had high hopes based off of reading other reviews, but Casa Mava truly exceeded our expectations. We did not want to leave. Everything was incredible and it's clear that this place is a labour of love. Even before we arrived, the staff all went above and beyond; sending recommendations on WhatsApp (which were great - local knowledge is always best!). Everyone was so helpful, friendly and they left some really thoughtful touches in the room for our honeymoon. We stayed in the villa with a private pool and having our own pool to go for a dip and to cool down in was so great. Honestly, it was a haven to come back to the villa after exploring in the heat. The villa itself was very spacious, especially compared to a lot of the other hotels we were looking into. It had a large and comfy bed, balcony, full kitchen, and the amenities were so thoughtful (local coffee, beach chairs and a beach umbrella, and filtered water jugs) - all very appreciated. The rooftop pool was also lovely for when we were looking to soak up the sun. Excellent location - steps from the beach, quiet, and a close walk to all of the shops, restaurants and bars. The hotel recently opened up a restaurant next door which is convenient for morning coffee/juices and breakfast. If we come back to Puerto Escondido, which I hope we do, we'd 100% stay here again. I can't recommend it enough to others! We loved our time here at Casa Mava.

Un hotel increíble, muy pronto tendrá servicio de restaurante, pasamos 4 días en este hotel y desde antes de llegar te hacen llegar información para que puedas llegar sin problemas al hotel, llegamos muy temprano antes de nuestro check in pero nos guardaron el equipaje y nos dejaron cambiar ahí, la ubicación esta increíble esta entre la punta y zicatela, la habitación estaba muy padre con alberca propia, camastro, cocineta que la verdad no usamos pero siempre nos dejaban para hacer cafe, una cama enorme y regadera separada del baño, nuestra habitación también contaba con una terraza en la habitacion. Sin duda volveríamos a reservar en este bello hotel.

Really helpful Fernando and team. Great location with some amazing places to eat not too far away. Lots of great recommendations provided - all were great. Pool on roof is great - not huge but perfect for cooling down. Rooms well thought out too.

This was my second time staying at Casa Mava and I would go back in a heartbeat!

The staff went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and well taken care of throughout our stay. The rooms were always extremely clean, and we loved spending our afternoons relaxing by the pool.

The propery is exactly like the pictures. We stayed in the room with the small private pool and it was awesome. The rooftop pool is also great. The location for us was perfect. It's walking distance from the beach and about a 10 min walk from La Punta. The staff were amazing and their list of contacts and recommendations was exactly what we needed. I actually loved the small gym they have. Everything was perfect!

What an amazing find!
We were greeted by Daniel how speaks little English but was so lovely and used a translator, that lac of English didn’t bother us at all. We were then met by Fernando absolutely lovely man who showed us around the hotel and the room as well as gave us plenty of recommendations for things to do, where to eat, where to party and so on. The most amazing staff, we were even taking to the bus station on our last day for free by the owner as the taxi couldn’t be called (that is what I call going an extra mile for your guests).
This was our honeymoon, the hotel left us a handwritten note and a complementary bottle of lovely white wine.
The room had the most amazing facilities, huge bed, the softest sheets I have ever slept in, inside the room kitchen that had everything needed including coffee machine, blender for smoothies, oil and salt, and even complementary Oaxacan coffee. Beautiful shower with always hot water and great quality toiletries, two sets of towels for the beach and for the room. They even had fold of chairs (as backpacks) and an umbrella that can be taken to the beach. The hotel has a small rooftop pool and fun stylish gym.
Location for us was spot on, as the hotel is bang in the middle of the Puerto Escondido beach, 5 min walk to the beach that is a quieter part of the strip.
15 min walk to Punta that has great lunch and bar options, shopping and more busy vibe if that is what you after.
15-20 min walk to Zicatele (party beach) clubs, bars more party vibe at night. But non of these are heard at the hotel.
Everyday cleaning was done spotless.
Overall the most wonderful hotel we stayed at during the 3 weeks in Mexico and we are definitely coming back!

Super modern and clean, great location close to beach and just a 10 min walk into busy town!

This property is absolutely stunning; it is a modern design sprinkled with local touches and is very well appointed. It was sparkling clean, with daily housekeeping provided. We enjoyed our morning coffee in our own little outdoor space as well as the cute little rooftop pool. The beach was a 5 minute walk away, and the chairs/umbrella/towels provided were appreciated. It was very quiet and peaceful at night, so we slept great. Our host Luis, and his staff, were so friendly and helpful. We absolutely loved staying there.

Location by the beach was great. Short walk to restaurants and bars.
