Overpriced room and cleanliness

Walking distance to wharf and the Boardwalk. Heat location

We asked them 4 seperate times to clean our room and it wasn’t done. We stayed 2 nights and our room never got clean even though we saw the cleaning staff outside and talked to them. The positive is that the hotel made it right at the end. Also Unfortunately our bathroom door simply did not close and we didn’t like the lack of outlets.

Everything else it is horrible
Here is the email I wrote to them after my stay and their response:

Dear Management of Marea Sol Hotel,

I am writing to formally express my deep disappointment regarding our recent stay at Marea Sol Hotel on [29-30 sep] (Confirmation #[MS00365245005], booked under Etai Inbar). We booked this stay specifically to celebrate my fiancée’s 29th birthday during our road trip, but due to severe communication lapses, hidden fees, and intolerable room conditions, our experience was completely ruined.

Several critical issues occurred before, during, and after our check-in:

Unresponsive Customer Service: Prior to arrival, I reached out via message to verify the bed configuration shown in your listing. I received zero response prior to arrival; only when checking in did the front desk agent casually acknowledge that she was just then seeing my message.

Lack of Fee Transparency at Check-In:

The front desk agent asked if we required a parking spot, presenting it as standard check-in assistance rather than a paid amenity. Only upon signing the paperwork did I discover an undisclosed $25 charge added to our $148.88 room rate. This fee was never communicated in advance or verbally disclosed prior to charging.

After charging the card, the agent announced an unannounced $100 security deposit hold, taking up to 5 business days to clear. As we are traveling on a strict road trip budget using a debit card, tying up $100 without prior disclosure created immediate, unnecessary financial strain. The staff refused cash alternatives.

Unacceptable Room Location and Inability to Sleep: We were assigned a ground-floor room facing the parking lot, which the agent framed as an upgrade. In reality, the room was uninhabitable for a restful night:

Violent Door Shaking and Noise: Every time a guest entered or exited another room on our floor, our entire room shook accompanied by loud banging, waking us up at least six times throughout the night.

Couldn’t hook up to WiFi and called front desk. She said “keep trying” and that is not an answer! It took at least 7 or 8 attempts for me to finally get on.

The shower head was very week

Nothing.

THE PLACE WAS VERY GOOD AREA BEAUTIFUL VIEW, I FEEL THAT THE ROOM AND ELAVATOR COULD OF BEEN MORE CLEAN LIKE TAKE THE TIME TO THROUGHLY CLEAN THE ROOMS THE BATHROOM COULD OF BEEN MORE CLEANED THERE WAS HAIR ON FLOOR MAYBE FROM PREVIOUS GUESS AND IT DIDNT LOOK LIKE IT WAS MOPPED, THE MIRRORS WERE DIRTY AND THE BLANKET LOOKED DIRTY OR STAINED , I FOUND SOME SHORTS AND SOCKS UNDER THE BED HIDDEN FROM MAYBE THE PREVIOUS GUESS IT JUST GOES TO SHOW THAT THE MAID DIDNT DO A THROUGHLY JOB CLEANING UP AFTER THE PREVIOUS GUESS, WHICH THEY COULD IF TAKEN THEIR TIME I DIDNT EVEN CHECK IN EARLY I CHECKED IN ABOUT 4:30ISH

cleanness could be a little better

The only downfall about the property is the parking lot. The parking is very tight if you have a larger car.

Advertisement listed a pool but the pool was more like a children’s pool. Really not for swimming and that is the reason we booked with the hotel. Woke up very early to the sound of garbage trucks retrieving trash outside my room. Hotel staff could be more personable at front desk.
