We left this property feeling stressed, uncomfortable, and honestly a little shaken.

We arrived excited to start our vacation after receiving confirmation that our room was ready. We were shown to a cabin, unpacked everything, settled in, and were about to leave for lunch when staff suddenly returned and told us we were in the wrong cabin. We were told we needed to pack up immediately because another group was arriving for “our” room.

Imagine unpacking all of your belongings into a private cabin only to find out you’ve been placed in someone else’s reservation. It was embarrassing, stressful, and made us question how a mistake like that could happen in the first place.

Instead of taking full responsibility, the staff tried to make it sound like it was partly our fault. There was very little empathy for the fact that they had completely derailed the first day of our trip.

At that point, we no longer felt comfortable staying there. If something as basic as assigning guests to the correct room could go so wrong, we had very little confidence in how the rest of our stay would be handled. We decided the best option was to leave.

The property told us to contact Booking.com and assured us they would approve a cancellation and issue a full refund. We trusted what they told us, left the property, and paid for another hotel.

Then they went back on their word and denied the refund request.

To make matters even worse, after I posted an honest review describing our experience, I received messages from the property implying that my refund depended on removing my review. That was incredibly upsetting and completely unprofessional.

Everyone makes mistakes. The wrong cabin assignment was unfortunate, but it wasn’t what made this such a terrible experience. It was the lack of accountability, the broken promises, and being left to absorb the financial loss after relying on what they told us.

We came to Valle de Guadalupe expecting a relaxing getaway.

What should have been a relaxing getaway turned into one of the most stressful and scary travel experiences we’ve had.

We arrived after being notified that our cabin was ready. A random man checked us in, showed us to our room, and we unpacked all of our belongings. Just as we were about to head out, someone came back and informed us that they had assigned us the wrong cabin and that we needed to move immediately because the actual guests were arriving.

It was incredibly unsettling. We had already settled into what we believed was our private accommodation, only to find out it belonged to someone else. That kind of mistake made us lose confidence in the property’s ability to manage something as basic as check-in.

Rather than fully owning the error, the staff tried to explain it away instead of recognizing how disruptive it was. By that point, we no longer felt comfortable staying there and decided we wanted to leave.They even blamed us saying we arrived early. We arrived because we got a message on the Booking.com portal that our room was ready.

We were instructed to contact Booking.com and were told the property would approve our cancellation and issue a full refund. Trusting that promise, we left and booked another hotel at our own expense.

Unfortunately, that promise was never honored. The property later denied the refund request, leaving us responsible for paying for accommodations we never used.

What made the situation even more disappointing was what happened afterward. After I shared an honest review of our experience, I received messages from the property suggesting my refund depended on removing that review. Whether they deny it publicly or not, I still have those messages.

Mistakes happen, and we understand that. What we cannot overlook is how the situation was handled. A simple check-in error became a much bigger issue because of the lack of accountability, the broken promises, and the way we were treated afterward.

WiFi was low. Not the best connection but hey you are tying to get away,

Nothing to do with the property, we loved our stay at 7 Valles. We were not crazy about the narrow, dusty, and difficult dirt road to get to the cabins, but once you arrive, everything is wonderful. Ideally, you opt to drive your SUV whenever you head to Valle de Guadalupe. The roads are the only thing that I find different than visiting the Napa Valley. The multiple wineries, beautiful views, Michelin-worthy restaurants, and variety of cabin styles make it totally worth a visit to Valle de Guadalupe.

No me puedo quejar de nada.
