Gorgeous and fun property. Fabulous restaurant, bar and rooftop. We stayed right there for everything.
Unique
Too dark with dark paint
This is a fun, funky place with a kind of post-punk aesthetic with a bougie make-over. The room was extremely clean, with a very comfortable bed, good water pressure, and piping hot water coming out of the shower almost immediately. I liked the attitude all the staff had - very genuinely service-oriented, but in a very casual, friendly way, and a little bit spunky - joking around with you as they answered your questions or took your order or whatever. This pattern of behavior was so consistent across the whole staff that I think it must be part of the training or maybe something they screen for when hiring. Anyway, it helped make the experience of staying there feel distinctive and special. I liked being able to walk out of my room and go down one floor to a terrific, high-end restaurant, or up a couple of floors to a pleasant rooftop bar.
There were not enough places to hang clothes and towels in the bathroom. While I loved staying there, it seemed a bit more expensive than the level of facilities and services warranted. There was no pool, for example, and the gym was pretty rudimentary. Some other basic services I usually expect at a hotel at this price point were not available. Wifi was really slow one of the days we stayed there, though it was fine on the other day. While there is a view looking towards the river, it isn't a particularly impressive view. Other hotels in the area offer better views. There is plentiful parking in the area, but the hotel seems to own most of it, even street parking in front of adjacent buildings. It seems a bit wrong to me for them to establish a sort of parking monopoly and charge $18 per day to park anywhere close to the hotel, when it is in the kind of location where parking is plentiful enough that it would normally be free. If they just made the parking free for people staying at the hotel I would feel a lot better about this place as a value proposition.
Lunch was great. Beverages as well, offering a nice selection of custom coffees.
Parking was a bit tight. But I was lucky to get an adjacent space because the entrance to the back parking was hard to find.
Most unique decor. Gorgeous bedroom. Lovely firepits and roof top service. Good location for the art district and just a mile from downtown. They kindly waived the parking fee for us.

It was different. And also out of the way from downtown
Wasn’t so much the property per se, but Asheville as a whole has gone downhill since I was there years ago. Homeless and people with mental issues all over the place. Reminds me a little of San Francisco, which I used to love but can’t stand now. We won’t visit Asheville again until they clean up the city. Sorry, not a dig on the property but we couldn’t wait to get the heck out of there and get to our mountain cabin.
Loved the location and the cool atmosphere!! Could use a make up mirror in the bathroom and a bit more light.

It was an amazing hotel, stunning decor with lots of beautiful and unique artworks, design elements and furnishings.
The rooms were large and had everything you could ever need, we loved the design, particularly the golden wardrobe and cocktail cabinet. The toiletries had a beautiful fragrance. All the complimentary coffee and teas in the room were from local suppliers.
The upstairs terrace bar was super cool with great views over the river.
Breakfast in the lobby bar area was delicious and such a cool space. The location within the Arts District was perfect for walking out and exploring.
Cory and Philip on reception went above and beyond our expectations to make sure our experience was amazing with fabulous suggestions for local bars and restaurants and activities in the area.
If we are ever lucky enough to be in the area again then we would love to stay at The Tapestry.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and quiet. The restaurants on site were wonderful. Highly recommend the rooftop bar for the views.
The parking is a pain, and it was not clear that it was $18 a day. You could hear some of the live music on the weekends in the rooms, but it did not go too late.
